http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ake-bid-Swansea-defender-Ashley-Williams.html If true surely this is a massive over evaluation of the player and our finances could be spent better elsewhere. Surely Matty upon on a free would be a lot better value for money over a couple of seasons than Williams. Plus I cant see swansea selling to one of their promotion rivals either
Don't even rate him that highly.Scored a couple of blinding own goals last season, and £2.6 million blimey that's more than we originally bid for Graham!
When we demolished the swans 4-0 on boxing day last year i thought tarbs and mackie gave him the absolute run around, especially 2nd half. He's pretty decent in air, but overall not really much better than Gorkks who I see as our first choice centre half currently. Would of taken him for a mil but 2.6 is a waste in my opinion.
In Warnock we trust, remember? Come on, last week people were screaming we weren't offering enough for players, now it's too much.
Swansea City deny QPR bid for Ashley Williams Jun 9 2011 1Share Add a comment Recommend Ashley Williams SWANSEA CITY chairman Huw Jenkins has dismissed reports QPR have made a £2.6 million bid for defender Ashley Williams. Several reports today suggested Hoops boss Neil Warnock had made a move for the Wales international, but Jenkins today insisted the Swans' defensive rock wasn't going anywhere. "We haven't had a bid for Ashley Williams... we're not selling Ashley williams," Jenkins said. "I think we mustn't forget really that there's a lot of speculation about players like Neil Taylor, Ashley or a few others. "Agents in this day and age do, rightly or wrongly, get things out in the press, maybe a negotiation tactic to get more wages, bigger contracts - it's just part and parcel isn't it of the Championship and now the Premier League. "Ashley has been a great signing for us, he's been with us a few years since his Stockport days and he's got the opportunity to play in the Premier League with us. "I've got no doubts that he's really looking forward to that challenge himself, playing for Swansea City." The Swans chairman added that the club were looking to add new players, with England Under-21 and Tottenham central defender Steven Caulker among the targets. The 19-year-old impressed on loan at Bristol City last season, despite seeing his season ended by knee cartilage surgery. Jenkins told teh BBC: "Steven Caulker, yes, is a player Brendan is interested in bringing in and we're actually speaking to Tottenham about that, and we'll hope to perhaps conclude something this week," Jenkins said. He's a very good player. He's strong, quick, is good on the ball, is approaching his peak, is a leader, has international experience (albeit with Wales) and would put a big dent in the hopes of a rival next season. Would be a top signing imo.
2.6m is about 2m over the top agent after a better deal at Swansea i agree with Big Stav he was poor on Boxing day
He's a good defender, people are forgetting we're rich as **** with all the gloom around, I know Bernie and Flav don't wanna spend but, and i'm being extremely optimistic, as mittal is still at the club, maybe he has offered to finance deals?
You got no chance of getting Williams girls, so don't fret your pretty little faces, he'll be here at Swansea for the start of the season, and by the way he loves it down here in Wales, he's stated "It's like being on one long holiday, down here in Swansea & Gower by the sea! You can't fault big Ash for that aye, anyway cheers for the interest chaps............ please log in to view this image
Not interested Phil, don't rate him. Sinclair is the only one of yours I'd take, and that includes Graham, after he's shown he lacks ambition!

No point going of half cocked Phil! when we go in we'll be going in hard, they've got to spend our S/T increase on something!
Is he in Gower often???? That team is CLOSE. In all honesty though, I do think Moon River is a cracking song....
