Ashley I feel has been a total and utter failure for toon. I am for the first time in a while begining to feel his time may be up. i do really think he is despite his supposed counter claims desperate to sell the toon. All the long contracts, cutting costs 10 yr deals on season tickets etc seems to me to be a way of setting up us up to sell. Obviously from his point of view we have to stay in Premiership 6 points will be enough surely even with a depleted squad cheers ashley we should have enough. They have no long term plan even a plan Pardew seems to either blatantly lie about the fitness of certain players on a weekly basis or come up with daily silly articles that I don't think for a minute fans buy. From my point of view I went to games over a 30 yrs basis haven't gone last year plus simply because I won't support this regime don't trust them, don't think they have any ambition and am still waiting for some direction from management not holding my breath tho. If anything does happen we will as usual be the last to know. We are a huge club and we have such a massive fanbase huge enthusiasm and really the potential (big word like!!) to be anything here's hoping for a sale although of course Mike Ashley is a total and utter enigma who knows!!

Can you give an example? I cant recall any blatant lies about fitness. And as little as he knows about football, Ashley is a good businessman and there is clearly a long term plan in place.

For the record I do want a new owner, but I dont agree with some of the points you are making.

Who's going to buy us though?

I'd love the club to be owned by the fans, but short of suffering another relegation that won't happen.

Like you I've boycotted the club, but I don't think Ashley is going anywhere and I want my club back. I'm close to breaking. :(

I may not be a Newcastle fan but it is in the best interest for a new owner to buy newcastle because he is just taking money out the club and looking at the side of making a profit, It is so sad how he is running the club because if he spent a bit of money like at least gave alan the 35 million to spend you could have a good class side and maybe challlenge for 5th and 6th place. but normally good chairmen would give the 35 million and a bit more as they are looking in the best interest of the club.

Why does nobody use punctuation <yikes>.

Anyway, I disagree with you. I don't think Ashley is looking to sell directly. However, if a decent offer did come in I could see him accepting it.

Well I certainly find Pardew liberal with the truth remember he is the man who said Carroll before sale would be fit everyweek rather than months!! Stephen Ireland commented he would be out for at least a month with thigh strain whereas pardew said originally he would be fit for Stoke game he is not!! Barton same one weeks becomes two/four no wonder Pardews nose is so long!! lets be honest no-one can second guess Ashley but my feeling is that he is trying to recoup funds as much as possible before a sale I might be wrong I hope I am not!!

Considering that he owns the club you are suggesting that Ashley steals from himself, clever eh! You also need to have a little look at published accounts because since he took over the club he has actually put money in, when the club makes an operating loss he is the one who has to fund that, on the point of a fans buyout whilst it was mooted around last time at £100 million what seems to be ignored is the ongoing capital required to maintain the daily running of the club, I doubt that any fans buyout could come close to being able to finance the ongoing demands of a premier league club let alone provide additional funds for player recruitment.

I'm reserving my final judgement of Ashley until the summer transfer window slams shut, then and only then will we understand what his true intentions are towards us in my opinion.

Spot on. I'm really sick of all the continual moaning being done by a minority of people. It does get boring listening to the same old, "ashley is only in it for him", "he is taking money out of the club", it is just regurgatated tripe, that gets brought up over and over on a quiet day. I am not his biggest fan, but I am holding my final judgement also until we see what happens in the summer!

As for Pardew, I quite like him, He is growing on me week by week and I think he is as tactically astute a manager we have had since Sir Bobby.

    I feel the same.

Although I don't like Ashley, the accusation that he is taking money out of the club is, as Blacker-than-Knight says, just not true.
I think that Ashley does have a strategy, and this is to reduce costs so as to get the club running as a profitable business. (which HAS to happen) Reducing the wage bill is the quickest and most straight forward way of doing this and any business needs to have a sensible wage structure.
Bringing in young talented players who want to prove themselves at this club and who do not demand ridiculous wages has to be better than the way we used to pay fortunes in transfer fees and wages for big name players who didn't really give a toss about the club. The problem is that most other clubs are trying to do the same.
If Ashley can establish Newcastle as a solvent and secure mid table Premiership club, he will have a much better chance of selling the club for a figure that will allow him to recoup most of his money. I believe that as soon as this is the case, he will be gone faster than **** off a shovel.
In the mean time, I think that Pardew will be given enough money to keep the club in the Premiership because this is vital to MA's plans.

To be fair to that tub of lard; he's done nothing wrong this month and let's applaud that.

    I want him out.

Any ****** with a billion in the bank could set out a plan to build the reserves and try to retain the current players or give the perception that he is.

He's still employing his **** buddy as the managing director and lets be honest; Llambias is not good at what he does.

    Sell?

    Yes please Mike.

Fair point, and I completely agree with what you say about that waste of space Llambias, but it does worry me that if Ashley sells, we could get another rich guy wanting to play Football Manager and the whole circus starts up again.
I must admit, the last few years (since we sacked Sir Bobby really) have kicked the crap out of me emotionally and I just want a few seasons of stability and my club not being a bloody laughing stock.
