I love how the press seem to go into a **** fest frenzy about the third kit with the pink stripe on.... it's called a 'cup' shirt on the puma US website, but we know it as the third shirt like most seasons yet they still trot out the bitter bile they do.
I guess the Express were one of the media lot who WERE NOT given preferential status/access with the club. <whistle>

MIKE ASHLEY will put his money where his mouth is to help Newcastle prove they can be a knockout in the cups.

Mike Ashley has put up £3.25m to inspire Newcastle to cup glory
The billionaire owner is ready to stump up a £3.25m prize fund to spur Steve McClaren's men to break the club's 46-year trophy drought.
And to prove their new-found commitment, Newcastle have even brought out a special shirt to wear in cup games next season.
Supporters are already making wise-cracks about it being a one-off jersey given Newcastle's dire record in sudden-death football under the Sports Direct mogul.

this is all very well saying it
but if the Manager puts a second string team out
then his money is safe as houses

also, this 'special shirt' to be used in cup games
does that mean if we are drawn at home, we'll wear that ??

I think the shirt is just the normal 3rd kit to be fair. It will get an airing in cup games and a few away games I reckon.

I need some sort of alert set up so I can fcking ignore this stupid club until a worthwhile signing is made. I'm flexible, too - coaches, physio's, assistants, psychologists, youth players, first teamers and, rarest of all, defenders all count.
