Recently remembered that Adam Pearson previously said a farewell game or dinner would be organised for Ashbee before the start of the new season, so fans could show their appreciation for his service to the club. I haven't heard anything being mentioned since then and nothing appears to be lined up for pre-season. Anyone heard if this is still going ahead? Would you consider going or has the moment passed?

I'd definitely go, he deserves a proper send-off.

I think it's being swept under the carpet hoping everybody forgets about it.

I think this might be the case too, as behind closed doors I think the situation ended on a sour note. I believe he deserves a good send off for the time he spent with City, although he divided fans opinion i enjoyed watching him throw himself into tackles. Could do with someone with his vocal leadership in the side now.

He achieved more for the club than any other player, manager or chairman in our history (in my opinion). Of course he should get a ****ing good send off! If it was down to me we'd have a statue of him outside the ground and his face painted on the seats of the East stand. ****ing legend.

Seen the links with him, i'd be happy if we sign him. Certainly won't be Akpan though, read today he's off to Crawley Town.

Maybe nothing has being orgainsed as Ash is no longer our player, he has commitments at Preston and will want a pre season with them and i can't see Brown being thrilled with the idea of Ash being away when he should be preparing for the new season with PNE. I think organising something for Ash when he retires would be more practical, and it's something that should be done to recognise his acheivements at the club. Although things didn't end like they should have done, i don't think any of the clubs hierarchy or supporters have an axe to grind with Ash so would support a game in his honour to thank him. We just have to wait for time when it's convenient for both parties.

I thought they could have organised a pre-season with PNE.

Something needs to be done for Ash, if nothing happens and the whole thing is forgotten it's a ****ing disgrace. The guy tried his hardest week in week out for us from the bottom to the top.
