So would you rather Carra or Coates line up aloingside Skrtel on Sun? Jonhson will be lb as Enriques still out so Kelly will be rb so that rules him out

Do we still have confidence in Carra to play against Citys strikers? I would rather Carra than Coates I think but i'm not confident in Carra playing against better attacking teams unfortunately

It's a difficult choice as Carra has the big game experience but City have very mobile attackers. I'm going to go for the youth and pace of Coates as my choice.

  3. So our back four as been decimated just in time to face the best attack in the league? Fan-bloody-tastic!

Edit: I'd go with Carragher purely because the defense is going to vastly need organising <ok>

If it were up to me, I would go with Coates.

Good question. Not sure. Good shouts for both, really. Possibly Carra on Sunday, and play Coates in the Hearts games?

    I'd go with that mate

Just in the past Carra and Skrtel havent looked good together, and Carra the legend he is isnt getting any younger

At least they'll have Lucas in front of them though

Defence needs organisation, and Carra can have days where he gets his head to absolutely everything and I can see City having loads of corners and stuff.

Hopefully he can have a good game so people stop writing him off completely <ok>

This game is a write off for me, Coates could use some big game experience but you know BR will play Carra. It is so obvious.

By the way, is Agger's ban only one match?

If Enrique was fit I'd give Kelly a go but if not its a toughie. Carra would get the nod for me but either way...good luck lads <laugh>

    Carragher's experience will be useful.

I think we need REALLY good shifts from Lucas and Allen whoever gets chosen at the back.

I would be tempted to go with Coates too, cannot see us realistically keeping them at bay whoever plays there. Just have no confidence in Carra these days, gets caught for pace and against tricky players like Tevez and Silva he always gives away free kicks. Time to give Coates a real go!

what happened to Wilson? He came to us with such great prospects - don't really see the point in him now, will he ever really break through?

  18. If Coates plays, we won't be organised at the back with both him and Kelly filling in.

If Carragher players, the back four will be organised but will also play deep and we will have to accept that there will be two or three errors on his part during the game that will present Man City with chances.

Alternatively, play both alongside Skrtel in a back five but that is inviting pressure <ok>

I think if you say to Carra 'go out, have a brilliant game, you won't get this chance often, enjoy it' he'll rise to the challenge.

It's not that he doesn't want to rise to the challenge, it's more that his legs won't let him rise to the challenge! he can't run for **** now and city's frontmen will tear him a new one if we play a high line
