That Phil Jones is brighter than many of us might have thought. He thinks that some "critics" (unspecified) want United to fail. Oh come on, Phil. Every football fan in the country wants United to recover from their poor start and go on to win the Premiership yet again. Heavens, what does he think we fans are like? Could someone explain why this statement of the bleedin' obvious is a news item?
Funnily enough, Philip, seeing the same bloody team win the league every bloody year isn't that interesting when you don't support the team in question. I mean, I even sort of wanted City to win the league a few years back as it would have been someone different.
This is a Ferguson tactic. Make out all the world is against you to make sure everyone closes ranks and supports each other. It is the same as Millwall's cry of "No-one likes us, we don't care".
Yep, agreed. I don't see that Moyes will employ it because it's just not him, but one of the players always can. It's quite clever really. It makes the group involved focus on winning, plus it draws media attention towards ManU, and they have been the most attention seeking football club I've ever known.
I hate ManU, I used to work with an avid United supporter, that had never been to Old Trafford and was born and raised in that well known suburb of Manchester called Ipswich.
Whilst I was just listening to the Saints talk on talkSport, they were also asking Non-ManU fans to ring in and chat about whether people want ManU to fail or not. I would have thought it was an obvious answer. Yes, of course, at the expense of their own team, preferably.
