I think Levy was hoping to break the news of Bale's sale after what he thought would be guaranteed win over Arsenal as a means of consolation. Unfortunately for 5pu1s Sunday ended up as a double whammy.
Half agree. I think they wanted to leave as late in the day as possible to Arsenal/Madrid couldn't announce anything re: Ozil. Apparently Ozil pre-contract deal was already done before the NLD. If Bale and Ozil deals had been announced some day not sure that would have gone down well with Spurs fans. Arsenal would have almost certainly wanted good news to deliver before the NLD to get the fans on side.
Triple whammy actually. Spuds lost the NLD, Bale ****ed off and as a result we were able to buy Ozil And the chief donut is glad that they lost to Arsenal
