... I'm glad he isn't playing at the moment as all those rather sad boo boys have had to find other targets for their constant negativity. All of this picking on and criticising of individual players is really getting to me. What everyone must realise is that the players we have now are all we have until the January transfer window. Nigel has to work with them and get the best out of them. For our own fans to undermine his work by constantly harping on about the poor performance of individual players and heaven forbid booing any of them is not helping our cause one jot. I know our defence needs to improve, I know our full backs are often exposed and I know Kelvin makes the occasional mistake. So don't keep on about it all and often in the least constructive way. I know all of this for goodness sake. I don't doubt this morning that Nigel is working with the players trying to find solutions and I am sure that he is now getting to know how the team needs best to cope with this bloody hard league. If you are a big enough prat to boo a single one of our players this coming Saturday then you shouldn't be posting on this board and more importantly you shouldn't set foot in St Mary's again. It isn't only our players that need a winning mentality some of our fans do too. If you want to just whinge and moan about our players then head off somewhere else and take that sad little loser gomarchingin with you.
Ha ha. Godders, I went to the game on Saturday and as I left the ground I received a text from my Father that said "Oh dear". My father singled out Guly after the Wigan game (I thought he played quite well that day) and blamed the United defeat on Guly coming on (for 11 minutes or whatever it was) and this was before we had left our seats. My father won't accept that he is just a Guly hater. Anyway back to the text message ... "Oh Dear". My reply was short and simple .... "We must have missed Guly"
On the rest of your post Godders, I think it is only right and fair for fans to come on hre and post some concerns or start some debates about the team, the players individually or the performances of the management. What I can't abide though is the "over the top", aggressive criticism that doesn't present any sensible solution or logical argument for a debate. People don't look outside of Saints. I said yesterday that eight teams have not won a game. The mighty manager that is Martin O'Neil hasn't won a league game for ten or eleven games; Martin O'Neil for goodness sake. Isn't he some kind of semi-god footballing manager. I just wish people would have a little perspective and look at things calmly and include the bigger picture. This would allow us happy clappers to enjoy our weekends
I did hear someone reserve a huge volley of abuse for Guly's 11 minutes against Utd. That was just after he had slaughtered Fox, Fonte and Kelvin. Anyway, I know that Nigel are trying bloody hard and they'll get some points on the board soon enough. And if they don't, well I'll support them anyway.
Personally, I would never stoop so low as to boo a single player (or even the team as a collective for that matter!). That said, I think SKD had one of the worst performances I have ever seen of Saints player and you can find significant fault with each of the goalds that Arsenal scored. *please note, the goals that Arsenal scored, not Jos and Nate. (Although it could be said he let the ball slip underneath him for the Jos goal). The second goal portrayed it all as far I am concerned. His positioning for the free kick was comical and really betrayed his level of experience.
