Said on Sky that he won't be eligible to play in their next FA Cup match, but will be thereafter.

 

Why would he not be eligible for the Cup, I don't get that one?

 

It's something to do with the time of the new loan agreement. Our new signing can't play for us on Sunday either.

It's about having his club registration in a certain time [7 days..?] before the match. This can only take place at the weekend and the latest opportunity was 27th/28th. Next weekend is too late. DTLW explained it better.

 

So, did his original registration with Bournemouth expire today then? That would make sense in that case.

 

Yes, it was a loan until the end of the year. The extension is actually a new agreement.

 

Although, if I was going to quibble, he was still registered as a Bournemouth player on the 27th, which was the cutoff for eligibility for the 3rd round games!
