    There was a piece in the Mail giving almost the opposite spin...that he wanted to be like that 'other Polish keeper whose name I can't spell'. Just shows that journalists can get different info from the same interview. I like the bit where he says that he was lucky to get a blank sheet and a chance to start again. He's certainly smartened up his act and got fitter.

    I don't think it's necessarily true that a) he was signed as third choice, or b) he actually threw a water bottle at anyone. Frankly Adkins could not get a performance out of any of his goalkeepers (Artur played v West Ham and Spurs before being dropped again) and I have no doubt that this contributed to him losing his job. Sods law for Nige that he went to Reading, who had even worse goalkeepers. Apart from that I agree with what it's saying, Boruc's performances are one of the reasons we stayed up.
