Not Poles apart: Boruc is hopeful of sealing a switch to Everton (Picture: Getty Images) ..The 32-year-old Poland stopper, who is currently a free agent, is on the look out for a new club after two seasons spent with Italian Serie A side Fiorentina, where he made 62 appearances. However, despite the offer of a new contract, he quit the club when his deal expired during the summer, in the hope of earning a deal in the Premier League. That aim is now an increasingly reality, with Everton boss David Moyes weighing up a contract offer, after Boruc impressed during a short trial over the weekend. Boruc is ready to sit down and discuss terms on a contract to act as cover for American star Tim Howard, having revealed that a transfer to QPR collapsed at the last minute last month. 'I almost signed with QPR before Julio Cesar became available but despite that I am looking forward to my next challenge,' said Boruc. 'I'm fit and available and a little bit surprised to be in this situation following two good seasons in Serie A with Fiorentina. I have had several other offers but they just didn't feel right at the time.' An athletic, strong and reliable goalkeeper known for his excellent reflexes, Boruc is said to be happy to accept a one-year-deal at Everton, in a bid to put himself in the shop window for next summer. . too true - we'd have Green as no1 and Boruc as back-up, don't think we'd look as solid at the back with either of them - hail Cesar
Absolutely. He handed Rangers the SPL title on more than one occasion with his constant howlers in Old Firm games. He's even more of a bottler than Green. Useless keeper.
Seems I disagree with the general concensus! I always thought he was excellent. Yes a few howlers (most keepers do), but on the whole was a quality keeper and an authority in the box. I say was, as I have not seen much of him since he went to Italy, so no idea if he has dropped form or picked up injuries. Not sure why so many think he's sheet....on a good day he was better than some keepers already playing in the Prem, so as a No 2 I would be quite happy. Dont get me wrong, I would far rather have Cesar, but useless he aint...Green vs Boruc would be a better debate.
Well as this it confirms that MH was telling the truth that the Cesar deal became something they had to go for ... only daft thing is that we were looking at Boruc in the first place. I said already that we will be signing 20 million pound players soon and i stand by that
