  1. This has probably already been made but i can't be arsed to check this time, i just want to say my piece and then **** off and watch Spartacus - Gods of the arena.

He's on 65K+ on his current contract, and he'll only get that amount of wages from a club in the top 6, and to be quite honest i don't see him being needed at any of those clubs. He'll just be cover for their starting players. And besides all them clubs seem to be in the hunt for Europes top talent, which rules Joey out of their starting 11 further.

Any club below the top 6, i can't see them paying the same amount he's getting paid now, unless it's a short term/no risk contract which won't interest Joey.

The main reason i think he will stay is.... The only thing i think he loves more than playing at a club with a fan base that love him as much as we do, is pissing off Mike Ashley, and how better to do that then take more of his money, which is what the fat **** cares about the most.

If he wants to be considered for England, then he'll do himself no favours in being a bench warmer for one of the top clubs. He needs to be showing that he can be a massive part of a team, not just back up.

Right now he's getting the chance to show what he's truely capable of, and he's guaranteed a starting 11 spot, and he's also getting a 65k+ wage. He wouldn't get that combination anywhere else. He may get the wages, but he'd only get those wages from a club that doesn't really need him, or he will be at a club that could really use him, but won't be prepared to pay the amount he's getting here at the moment. Plus he's respected and love here, more than any place he's been before.

In summary, he's not going to be guaranteed a starting 11 position every week at a club that will pay him what he's collecting on his current contract. He's got the perfect combination here. He can play in a good team's starting 11, show off his ability, collect a handsome wage and piss of Mike Ashley at the same time. I think he will think about this, and come to a decision to stay. He wants to prove himself a quality player, which he gets to do here for a higher wage than he'll get at any other club that needs him in their starting 11.

I've said my piece. There it is. Take it or leave it.

Arsenal and Spurs have both made enquiries about Barton.

He rejected Man United though so I don't see why he wouldn't reject the aforementioned.

However , if he leaves now , I would only think that he was trying to engineer a move away from the club by these twitter comments because what difference would it make to Barton if the club get a fee for him or not?

If he really wants to stay , he'll stay and tell the interested parties that they're not wanted.

    Fingers crossed that will happen.

Spot on! Joey will only go if he is told he isn't needed and wouldn't play.

I think he'll stay as well, nothings changed really today IMO, will just test his nerve about rejecting any move.

  6. Agreed. I think Cabaye is excellent and basically the perfect replacement for Barton, but Cabaye still needs a year to get to know the PL properly, even though i think he can handle it, he needs to learn. Barton and Enrique should stay another year. I don't mind losing them for free next year because i'd rather have another year of their quality.

I know you hate people picking at one point of your article, but I really cant be arsed to comment on all of it.

You said only the top 6 will be able to pay £65k a week - not true, as Wigan payed N'Zogbia that.

Also, as he is available for free, more clubs will be willing to pay his wages as they dont have to pay a fee.

I hope he stays, I can only see him leaving for Spurs, Arsenal or Everton.

User on here Clarence Acuna has said several things today that have all made a ton of sense and on one thread he said this:

Which, in my humble opinion, is bang on.

I think Villa or Everton would be the most likely places he'd end up if he does leave, will probably end up at either even if he runs his contract down. Spurs fans wont have him as Modric's replacement, and he isnt the DM Arsenal need.

  13. Agreed. Everton would be the best bet i reckon, however i heard Everton fans don't rate him or like him that much. He was getting boo'd and slated at Goodison, and when he heard the Everton fans treatment of him, he kissed and punched his Newcastle United badge, whilst going to take a corner, which got cheers from the Newcastle fans and louder boo's from the Evertonians.

I doubt he'll be wanted there. To be honest they have a good DM in Feillini which he won't replace, and i don't think Cahill and Arteta will be dropped for him either.

He's changing fans opinion of him daily and everyone defends their own players, but then nearly every club that would have him probably gave him a load of abuse at the away game but would happily have him in the side. PR-wise, twitter has been a masterstroke by Barton - he leaves on generally good terms with NUFC fans, either now or next season, and him showing his true colours about his intellect and opinions sway the thoughts of those who used to hate him from opposition clubs.

And as for Everton in particular, I think he's get games there, they rotate well and get a lot of injuries.

To get him off the wage bill, its people who have been known to disagree with Ashley or Llambias that are getting moved on Enrique, Barton, Beye (back in 09) and Harper will be next.
