Morning all, we've had a lot of comment about Watford's season, but what I would like to know is how you think the Championship table will look at the end of the season, of all 24 teams! It's going to be really tough and we will all be wrong, but I'll come with some sort of scoring system at the end of the season , where for every place for each team your out by you get a point, and the lowest scorer wins, erm, ah, THIS TROPHY!!!! http://www.randomclipart.com/99-cartoon-trophy-gold/ Good luck, here's my go, I'm going left-field and not following all the pundits predictions which had Bristol City and Middlesborough going up last season! 1. Birmingham 2. Leicester 3. Leeds (play-off winners) 4. Reading 5. West Ham 6. Hull 7. Portsmouth 8. Caridff 9. Bristol City 10. Derby 11. Crystal Palace 12. Southampton 13. Ipswich 14. Watford 15. Middlesbrough 16. Barnsley 17. Coventry 18. Nottingham Forest 19. Doncaster 20. Blackpool 21. Brighton 22. Burnley 23. Millwall 24. Peterborough I just look at Burnley and Millwall, who have lost key players and haven't exactly replaced them. Also, everyone is raving about Brighton but they lost their top goalscorer and key winger, don't think Buckley and Mackail-smith will do that good a job. Kudos for Blackpool, wouldn't be surprised to see Holloway walk fairly early. At the other end of the table, if you look at the Leeds team they have a really good defence so could be the team to watch out for. Leicester have such a good team that they won't win it, Birmingham seem to be under everyone's radar but they have kept a lot of last seasons team and I don't think they will offload the likes of Jerome and Dann until January. Just my 2 pence, would like to hear yours...
Sorry emmiatss have had enough of these how do you think we will do , championship tables , fantasy league etc,! Even pulled out of SLB's predo league!! Just my opinion , but I dont think I would have enough hours in a day if I joined all of them!
Fair-do's Norway, some comfort for you might be that once that first ball is kicked in anger on Saturday all the predo-leagues will be thrown out the window!
I quite like these - and they are best done before the season starts so we can see the egg splattering over our faces later on Promoted: Leicester and Leeds; paly off winner Southampton Relegated: Coventry, Doncaster and Peterboro sadly
Promoted: Three of the other 22 English teams. Relegated: Three of the other 22 English teams. Should be a thriller.
Are you insane,Bham have released all of their effective players and are going to sell Zigic and Dann before the prem starts, they have only recruited free cast offs and have no money to entice players.... and you have them winning the league, quit the cocaine and acid and come back down to earth!
Leicester, West Ham, Ipswich through the playoffs Barnsley, Doncaster, Millwall for the drop. If I get one of those six I will be amazed, given the ups and downs we know will come.
A deaf and dumb Indian street singer, who has never come across the game of football, could tell you that Bham are gonna struggle this season.
If they hang on to Mutch they will be ok! maybe not promotion contenders , but I dont think they are relegation fodder!
Champions: Leicester 2nd Place: Nottingham Forest Play off Winners: Reading Relegated: Peterborough, Palace & Barnsley I agree with KOBY that Birmingham will struggle this season. Even if they do manage to keep hold of their remaining 'star' players for now, they will probably be sold in January and we all know what losing a few players in January can be like! I can't see them finishing in the top half let alone topping the table. 15th I think Brighton will suprise a few people. I am big fan of Poyet and think they could be in or around the play off places at the end of the season. 7th Not a fan however of West Ham (well Sullivan/Gold/Brady rather than the club). A lot of pressure on the manager and the players from above and the fans. Not sure how well they will do in the Championship. Think they will struggle to get goals and can see them buying a few more random expensive european strikers, which doesn't seem to have worked out in the last couple of years for them. 10th
Ah but surely a deaf and dumb Indian street singer who has never come across the game of football is likely to get it wrong so Birmingham WILL get promoted
Hmm, I wonder what that deaf, dumb and blind Indian street singer who hasn't come across football would make of this.
1. Leicester 2. Birmingham 3.Ipswich 4.West Ham (promoted) 5.Cardiff (great finish to season after sacking a incompetant Malky) 6.Nottingham forest 7.Southampton 8.Reading 9.Watford 10.Hull 11.Portsmouth 12.Derby 13.millwall 14 Leeds 15.Blackpool 16.Brighton 17.Middlesbrough 18. Bristol city 19. Barnsley 20. Burnley 21. Doncaster 22.Coventry 23.Crystal Palace 24.Peterborough
The Guardian did their pre-season prediction today, I think it's about the best I've seen: Champions: West Ham Promoted: Leicester Play-offs: Nottingham Forest, Cardiff, Brighton, Hull Top half: Birmingham, Reading, Burnley, Leeds, Millwall, Ipswich Bottom half: Blackpool, Middlesbrough, Southampton, Portsmouth, Derby, Barnsley, Bristol City, Crystal Palace, Doncaster Relegated: Watford, Coventry, Peterborough Edit: As I just realised this article originated on the Watford board, move them from Relegation to bottom half.
