We have only managed to scrape wins against the mighty York and a Kilmarnock second string, which also included 3 trialists! I realise that pre-season is all about fitness, but surely we should be showing some signs that we are capable of playing football. I realise the team needs to gel, but Bruce is already starting with the excuses, saying the players are leggy and we had a hard trip to Scotland, i hope that this is not a reflection of things to come - a HARD trip all the way to Scotland?! As for Burnley being a week ahead of us - we should be light years ahead of them! in technical terms and quality of players, for me it has shown glaring weakness in the team IE a left winger capebel of producing that bit of sparkle Ala Adam Johnston, and a loanee striker to cover for the African nations when we are short.

This article may seem im knocking Bruce, but to be fair i like many other supporters were hoping for better things, last season my support for Bruce waiverd, whilst i hope for him he gets it right, i still have resivations whether he is the right man for the job.

Whilst he is brilliant in the transfer market i hope big lessons have been learnt for this season, i expect to get slated for this article but hey its only my opinion and everyone's entitled to agree or not.

Bart mate every man and his dog can see what we need, im pleased with the signings so far, but just cannot see it happening on the pitch, unlike some i have seen all the pre season Germany games and one on tv , have you, you all know my feeling for Bruce last season, but i buried the hatchet for this, i really want him to do well, **** sake its me boys here the lads, i want to see them come out with some fire in the belly and what we can expect in future.

Aye were not firing on all cylinders but that's what pre-season is all about. I'm sure we will be ok at season start, if not then that's when we can question pre-season. positive waves :)

We were **** last season in pre season let's be fair. When waghorn rescued us against that Irish team and Brighton.

Liverpool have had Afew poor results so it should be even without gerrard and with Charlie Adam and Henderson in the same midfield!

mag in peace i wouldnt worry to much about pre-season it's more about getting up to match fitness and trying new things i think both of our teams will improve upon last year.

you have a lot of new players and unfit players so it takes a while, we lost to orlando which is embarresing enough, 3-2 to leeds was a good match and we made 2 mistakes which became goals so always take the positives from a freindly, the negatives mean nothing

Pre-season's just about gelling and getting match fit. We aren't there yet, but then neither is the season...

Plenty of teams have had bad results in pre season, including both Newcastle and Sunderland. Would rather be in your position than ours right now.

Personally I don't put much stock in pre-season scorelines. This is a time for trying different line-ups, tactics etc. It's more important that they generate a team spirit and get the players fit. I do still think we need a new proven striker though and if we don't get one we may be found wanting as the season unfolds. In general I'm happy with the players that were brought in and believe they will do a good job for us. The future is bright, just want Quinny to make it blinding and get us a great striker.

Don't pay much attention to them either but, the way we played on Saturday was a shambles and an insult to the lads who went down to Burnley to support the team. We should by now have "gelled" and we should from now be beating the teams we have to play left convincingly.
Bramble should be nowhere near the first team unless we have massive injuries two stupid penalties and two stupid red cards in pre season FFS, and where is O'Shea these days is he fit yet?
I do realise that their lass has just had a kid so maybe he is nappy changing or something like that or, maybe he is injured already anybody know?
