Beaten 3-0 by Hull is not something I ever want to see again, yes Hull played well - but they're a championship side, if they get into the prem then they'll be 15-17th like they were when they were here.

I'm so angry at the players for not putting in the same dedication as Hull did. I know we put 2 different teams out, and I know the squad is missing players and players we expect to be sold are still there.. but it's really not good enough that we let them get anywhere near that many chances.

This is going to effect the player's confidence, no doubt about it - but it's just confirmed we need buyers for the dross we currently have.

Sorry If I sound harsh against the team, but it just wasn't good enough and if I'm being honest I am a little bit worried. I'm worried we won't have enough class in defence to get us in the top 4, and I'm worried about the complications we'll have if Suarez gets injured.

These need to be sorted out. We've had too many disappointments as Liverpool fans and I'm not sure after these 2 years I can cope with another defeat, I might develop selective match watching where I categorically deny we ever lost to anyone.

At the end of day, we got outplayed. We can't deny that Hull deserved the win. In the first half, the defence was backing off for both of Hull's goals and that is disappointing. That does need sorting out. To be fair, the team we played in the first half will not be the team will put out against Sunderland.

Regarding your points about squad depth, i'm still confident that we will get a left-back in. That will sort out one problem area of our defence. Centre-back is not too bad in my opinion. We've got Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos and Kelly could go into the centre-back position. I feel we are O.K at centre-back.

I'm also a bit worried about the forward position. We've got Suarez, Carroll, Kuyt and N'Gog. I'm happy with the first three but if one gets injured, we are down to two strikers i'm happy with and N'Gog... Who i'm not so happy with. We do need a back-up striker but we need to clear out the crap in our squad.

In conclusion, i'm concerned. There is time in this pre-season to iron out the mistakes at the back.

    <ok>

It aint all CM or FM. New players mixed spanners and a few regs lots of subs, so many reasons to take little from this. A bit soon to be judging things. Changes today in important positions, bound to be fragile in defence and unsure in attack, but hey, Kenny cant put th egames on 'fast mode' and rush a season by in minutes, you justhave to wait, jaesus, you don't expect much do ye Ze

I'm not judging what our season is going to be like, I'm just incredibly frustrated that we went out today and looked like a Hodgson side for the first 45 minutes.

Yeah I can agree it wasn't pretty but certainly needed, no point going into the start of the season NOT having our weaknesses exposed and identified

Agreed,It was probably a blessing in disguise.

If we'd have won with some ease it would have sent out false signals and hidden the weakness in defence and the inbalance of our team(s) today.

At least Kenny now has some time to address the issue.

Some of our players today looked like they believed in their own hype, but well done to Hull on their deserved victory.

First half team was weaker. Kelly had a bit of a 'mare (most of goals came from right), as did N'gog. Good points from first half: Aquilani looked good, Robinson also did pretty good. Second half, much better team. Good signs from Henderson, Adam and (especially) Downing. Kenny looked like he was trying new combos today.

Will be good when Reina is between the sticks, Lucas is back to anchor midfield, Suarez adds bite to the attack, and, hopefully, Gerrard adds extra drive.

Fair play to Hull, though, they played very well. Good luck to them next season - I hope they do well. :)

Kenny said after the match something like....some of these players want to be in the first team and we've given them every opportunity but they will have to be better than that.

The first 1/2 half display was pathetic and when I saw the team it was a worry.

It goes to show that the likes of Cole and Poulsen don't have the drive to be a success at Liverpool.
Kelly and Robinson were good and Aquilani looked ok but had no players around him and as for N'gog he is not of the very basic required level.

The 2nd half was much better with chances being created and some determination shown by players the team picked was much more encouraging.

I hope that in the next 3 games Kenny now trims the squad and starts to play teams that will have a part in the season.

Kenny's trying out things, giving players a chance to prove there worth, bring new blood in. It wasn't pretty to watch, but fair play to Hull they deserved it.

And Mr D, drive David Ngog to John Lennon Airport stick him on a one way ticket to Siberia, he is truly gutless, devoid of talent and not fit to wear the shirt.

Oh Christ knee jerk flapping over a pre-season friendly????? Jesus, talk about fickle support! The transfer window isn't even half way through, and people can't judge anything from the match. While Hull are only a Championship side, they are at least a week ahead of us in their preparation. Remember who's season starts first????

Then we have the players we are missing? Hello??? A certain number 7 who was not there, would have ripped them to shreds. When the big Greek is our most senior defender on the pitch in the second half, you know things are not what to expect come the start of the season.

So come on people, this threads existence is an utter embarrassment. Really. It's like you're all first season supporters and have never seen football in your lives. You are making a mockery of our football club by bleating about such utter insignificant crap.

I can go on with a hundred and one reasons why this thread makes me cry inside, covering all the positives I took from today, Adam's corners, some of Henderson's approach work, Downing's runs... This is the first time some of these players have ever played together... look I'm off again... I'm going before I vomit in shame....

Ze, try and save face and delete the tread, and next time take a breathe before rushing in and making a soft tart out of yourself.

I dont see what the problem Liverpool fans have. It was a friendly and that meant nothing other than a run out and a game for your lesser players. For us I suppose it meant a lot more by beating yourselves. Surely it is far better for Dalgliesh to see what he exactly has now rather than during a game in the Premiership. Just keep the faith with your team and management

Cant speak for others on the thread, but i've never lost faith in KK,as for the teams 1st half and 2nd half today you only have to hear what Kenny said after the game to see it was certain fringe players that had possibly a last chance to impress and stake a claim to a place in the squad.

It was better it happened today than in the 1st game of the new season, friendly games exist to try out formations, attain fitness levels, blood new players etc.

I'm afraid mate you're the one making a soft tart out of yourself. It's my opinion and I'm sticking to it, I have made an opinion based on us playing and come to the conclusion the defence needs strengthening up, sorry for the absolute knee jerk reaction to my frustration. <doh>

Perhaps if you'd read the thread I pointed out it's not the full team etc.. but I'm frustrated we looked like a Hodgson team for the first 45 minutes.

It's actually making me ashamed to be part of these forums if your first reaction is this.

Of course I have faith in Kenny, but it doesn't stop me being worried about the fact we let in a number of goals over the friendlies against "lesser teams." Making me look to our defence, which does need something added because it's become obvious it's missing something.

You can all jump down my throat or whatever, but pre-season friendlies are a way of seeing the team before the new season and for the manager to watch his players play and find weaknesses. My weakness throughout this whole thing has been our defence.

In future Noblelox, try and take your rose tinted glasses off before posting. These forums aren't just for the over optimistic blind supporters.
