I know its only gossip and rumour and may never happen, but if it did would SWP and Bellamy signing move us on to that next level in profile, statement and skills?

Yes I know that Bellamy is past his best and that SWP did not make it at Chelsea or City, but we are Sunderland.

Yes I would rather be going after Adam Johnson, Modric and Fabregas but again we are Sunderland.

I, like you, know we are the biggest and best club in the world but to those outside, we are Sunderland.

We football fans are very good at pointing out what a player does not have, their failings and faults but, what do SWP and Bellamy have and would it improve our squad?

Would England international SWP be a better option on the left wing than Colback, Vaughn or Richardson, surely a better question than would he be better than Johnson who we cant get or Bale who we could never get.

Would Bellamy add to our attack, even if it was from the bench because of his fitness.

In our internet world we call for Johnson to be signed and top world class players to be recruited, in the real world, the one that Bruce and Quinn work in it may not be that simple.

Would a Sunderland team that included Brown, O’Shea, SWP, Bellamy, Sess and Gyan not make the opponents stop and think?

I reckon both of them would be cracking additions.....

Whilst i'm happy with most of our new players, this pair would add something different, still dubious as to who would play left wing.

But Bellamy would be fanatastic as another striker.

So in the real world, this pair may be possible, where-as some of the rumours we;ve had are pure fantasy.

I agree that they'd both be fantastic additions to the team.

From what I was reading last night Bruce was trying to distance himself from the SWP signing but Bellamy was a real possibility!

Who knows if we'll end up with either but I certainly hope we do!
