CRYSTAL PALACE v WATFORD So, it has come to this, a one-off game to go up to the Premiership after a long and hard-fought season for both clubs. Palace take on Watford at the new Wembley. Holloway has been raving recently and even Zola had lost it after both clubs came through their respective play off semi-final games. Palace beat Brighton whereas Watford overcame Leicester. Now, two weeks to prepare for both clubs should be more than ample to regain the focus. Palace finished 5th and seven points behind us in the table and we have had four points off them this season. However, this means nothing going into this final, or does it? Who knows? Who cares? This is it, final time and I, for one, can't believe we've made it! This could be promotion in the first season in change for the Pozzos and Zola. So, after some have rightly pointed out on this board, after going up in 1999 and 2006 via the play offs is it now time to continue this trend... Good thread and is great to relive those finals. Watford have obviously done something right this year as my son, who does not like football (I don't know where I went wrong!) and who has been absent from the Vic for 2 years, has asked to come. I am hoping that this will be the game to finally win him over!
Anyone else having problems as a season ticket holder getting a block booking for 6 people or more for Wembley ?
Yes my mate organised ours-16 in green, all in took him 5 hours to get thru and tickets purchased. We've ended up with 11 tickets in blocks of 2/3 all fairly close and then 5 individual tickets in the same section. They couldn't do any better for us even if we opted for the more expensive seats. Yup Alex. It took us hours to get 15. We were asking for some in front of the other. For instance 8/7 or similar. But only managed to get 11 and four separate.
We have 9k season ticket holders at most so dont quite understand what is happening you can only block book Cat5 tickets and for anywhere else you are spread out all over the section with most sections in Cat2-3-4 either sold out or limited availabilty
Took me nearly 3 hours to get 14 - but finally got them altogether in block 503. Anyway back on thread - I am going for a 3-1 Watford victory...
Well if 9000 order 2 each then that's 18000. I wonder how many the lower green seats hold, but then you have the orange and the pink too. Either we have been amazing and sold out about 10000 by lunchtime or there is something mad going on.
meanwhile, great to have the thread going already, it could be a record thread...though sadly there are very few Palace fans on the site to discuss with! However, for one final time this season, i'm going for a 3-1 Watford win...i won my bet on that score on Sunday, you never know, lightning might strike twice..though i'd take more goals like the three on Sunday over the right scoreline!
The goals scored in the past two finals are illuminating. I could see the current team scoring in the same way as GT's team against Bolton but I don't think they would get the same sort of goals we got against Leeds. For a start one was a penalty. There is also a lack of finesse. Having said that I would be perfectly happy with a scrambled winner against Palace, but they don't seem to happen under GZ.

There probably won't be too much activity on here whilst the game is being played - most will be at Wembley. Unfortunately, I will be at work, so won't even be able to watch it on the laptop. Not having Sky Sports, I can't even record it on TV.
