With options limited this season (who the hell thought that would be a good idea?), why do we have such a poor bench to call upon? The bench is usually:

    Basso
    Dawson
    Barmby
    Adebola
    Bradley

Now, the idea of a subs bench is to bring on a player which would change the game if we are losing, or to hold the game up if we are winning. And of course cover injuries. Out of the players listed above, who would bring on to win a match? Surely this would be more favourable?:

    Basso
    Evans
    Pusic (I know he's injured)
    Bradley
    McLean

Adebola coming on is fine, would rather it were McLean but if we are winning, Ade is fine and McLean can harry. But what's the point of Barmby and Dawson? Both lost their legs; Barmbs just doesn't have the effect he had last season, so why do they bring him on? **rolls eyes** yes, he was born in Hull, he's a Hull lad yadayada, but when he crosses the white line this season, he just doesn't do much, if anything. And yet he comes on every game? We should have a player who we can bring on who really makes a difference. A few good runs in the Blackpool game were his highlight. Dawson....well he speaks for himself, has made the LB place his own, so much so that there should be a permanent plaque at the left back spot with his name on it. But now, he just gives away free kicks and lost his ability to take them. Sonny Bradley I'm guessing is in there because he was the best in training, he is good and is probably ready to play if needs be.

Whilst not being a great starter, last season Devitt was good as an impact sub getting out wide and creating chances that were not their prior to his introduction. I would regularly have him on the bench.
