    I like to start by a little intro into myself.

    My name is keith 43 year old gills supporter,which i also have a blog and am always on twitter and facebook,now due to the problems recently on here,i will not post any links at all,so if anyone would like to view anything please ask,or if you would like to add me on facebook/twitter.

    Now for the main article,which i am sure,you will all like.

    Welcome to the first of a line of interviews with ex Gillingham FC players, first up is …….

    Gillingham FC legend Robert Taylor, who also played for..

    Norwich City, Leyton Orient, Birmingham City, Brentford, Manchester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Queens Park Rangers, Grimsby Town and S****horpe United.



    1. In hindsight do you wish you stayed at Gillingham?

    I loved my time at the gills and loved my time at man city getting promoted to the prem.

    2. How did you feel getting negative comments, did you have the confidence that you would turn it around.

    I didn’t mind as the manager and the players knew what I could do it was just me getting myself fit.

    3. Do you keep in contact with any of the old players?

    Yes I still keep in touch with a lot of the players.

    4. Who did you most enjoy playing with the most?

    I enjoyed playing at most of the clubs. The only I didn’t enjoy was wolves as I had injuries and didn’t get looked after very well.

    5. Best goal you scored for Gillingham.

    Every goal I scored for Gillingham .

    6. Highest point of your Gillingham days.

    Playing at Wembley and scoring there. Scoring 5 at Burnley

    7. Lowest point of your Gillingham days.

    when I first joined the club when I wasn’t fit and wasn’t playing at my full potential .

    8. What have you been doing since you’re playing days.

    Spending quality time with my kids. Managing a couple of local clubs in Norfolk. Now working in an academy school dealing with the behavioural side .

    9. Who was the toughest defender you came up against?

    Andy Morrison at man city.

    10. When you first started playing, what hopes of the highest levels you could reach would be.

    didn’t have any just loved playing the game

    11. Do you keep an eye on the Gillingham results, if so how do you think they are doing?

    I do watch the results and fingers crossed the club will get promoted.

    12. What advice would you give to any youngster, just starting out in a career of football?

    Just enjoy it and work hard. Stay away from women.

    13. How would you like to be remembered by the gills fans, for your time at the club?

    Just hope they enjoyed watching me play as much as did enjoy playing in front of such great support.

    14. How did it feel coming out to the chants of your name at Gillingham?

    Gives you goosebumps and it gives you an extra confidence knowing the supporters are behind you.

    15. What memorabilia do you still have from the Gillingham days?

    I have my shirts frame. Match balls and boots. I have all my man of the match trophies. I have scrapbooks to.



    I think all is Gillingham fans would like to take the time and thank Robert Taylor for his time at Gillingham.

    What i can tell by this interview,not only has he time for all the fans,he always wanted to try and stay fit to give his all for the club,and the love he still has.

    I for one will never forget him,and for me and i am sure others,he is a legend at Gillingham FC.

    Thanks for that. It is nice to know how our former players are getting on in life and what they are king after their playing days. He was a true legend for the Gills as there have been a few over the years.
    I like to check out 'On this day' and remember the games and the atmosphere (doom , gloom and joy) throughout the late 60s until now.
    Be good to get one from Brian Yeo ....before it's too late!!!!
