This will be based on the quality of performances during last and pre-season, and also assuming all players listed as injured on arsenal.com will not be fit enough to play.

Injured: Wilshere, van Persie, Diaby, Walcott, Nasri, Koscielny.

    -----------------Szczesny-----------------
    ---Sagna---Djourou---Vermaelen---Gibbs---
    ------------------Song--------------------
    ---------Fabregas------Ramsey------------
    ---Gervinho------Chamakh-----Arshavin----

Subs: Fabianski, Squilacci, Traore, Frimpong, Lansbury, Rosicky, Miyaichi/v.Persie

If van Persie gets fit enough before then, I think that he will get the nod ahead of Chamakh, but I can't see anything else changing, unless we sign a CB (i.e. Cahill or Jagielka) who might get put in instead of Djourou, but I doubt it. If Fabregas is "not fit enough" then Rosicky will play in his place.

Considering that team, I am a bit pessimistic about our chances. I think if we can score 1 or 2 goals before half time, we will probably win, but I'm not sure about our chances if either we drop off in the second half or if we go behind.

All in all, I predict a 2-1 win.

Gervinho and Ramsey scoring in the first half, with Newcastle scoring with 10 mins to go and a nervy finish.

Tbh thats not a bad team... Strong in midfield and on the wings which should mean alot of chances created. Gervinho will be looking to prove himself at his new club and Arshavin/Chamakh will be looking to impress to try and grab back some sort of starting place in the team.

As for the back-line it doesn't look all that shabby to me. I'm not convinced by Gibbs yet but TV and Sagna are top quality and Djourou is a good player (although i'd rather we play Kosc who i think is immense and very under-rated, but alas he is on the injury list).

The injury situation is worrying yet again, the likes of Rosicky and squilacci are way past their best, not convinced Chamakh is good enough and gibbs lacks experience and teams that have targeted him have had some success.
Staiting the obvious, but the likes of wilshire and van persie are crucial to us this season.

If you're interested, I'd say our team will be something like this (Barton just said he's playing):

    Krul
    Simpson Taylor Coloccini Enrique
    Tiote Cabaye
    Barton Marveaux Gutierrez
    Ba

Just estimating though, not sure what Pardew's vision is for this season.

    Hi guys.

In regards to the team on the OP, I heard that Fabregas, Vermaelan and Gibbs are also out. Is this correct or is it the media making out that your injuries are worse than they are?

Also you say that if you are 2-0 up at half time you will win...have you not learnt your lesson ;)

Verm. and Gibbs are slightly doubtful according to various reports, but nothing official. i believe that they will play, especially when Wenger looks at the back-up. i don't think fabregas will play due to the situation with the spanish basterds and his "fitness levels", so rosicky might play in place of him. i don't like the sound of that, so i hope it doesn't happen and we drop the 433 and go with a 442 with gerv. and cham. up front, lansbury and arshavin ont he wings.

This team is strong as **** - Gerv, Ramsey & Arseshaver worry me the most out of that lineup. I personally watch a lot of Arsenal games (my best mate is a glory fan) and I personally think Ramsey will go onto greater things than Wilshire (who is also class).

I think if we sit back and let you have the ball you will butt f*ck us - but if we get about you we may be able to exploit your defence as every one know's, this is your weekness. Anyway, call me deluded or just plain ******ed but I think we can snatch a point.

I'm looking forward to the game.

Rather than change to a 4-4-2 without Fabregas i'd rather push Arshavin into the Fabregas role and stick Bendtner on one of the wings if he is still about by then :p

I'd actualy quite like to see Arshavin playing centrally a little more often.

Rosicky (would like to see him ahead of Ramsey)
    Squillaci
    Frimpong
Fabianski (would like to see him ahead of Sz, but since they're both quality, it doesn't matter :) )
    Nasri (he's injured right?)
    Lansbury
