I was walking across Greville Smyth park this morning as the City team coach pulled away. I looked down and the breeze blew a freshly folded piece of paper onto my shoe. I picked it up and as soon as I saw the content I looked for the coach, but unfortunately it had gone. I hope it wasn't important. Here's what it said: TEAM TALK Now this is going to be a tough match lads. On paper we haven't got much of a chance. They're a good team; many of the players have Premier League experience and they have an ex-England manager. Now put that out of your minds. Some of you know that I want you out of the club so that I can get better players in. However I'm sure that if I bring you on tonight you'll give 100% for me and the club. Remember our new kick-off routine. We should have a good number of chances to use it tonight so give it a go. Whatever the result, lose or draw, remember it's a long season and I'm sure Lady Luck will smile at us soon. At the end don't forget our fans. They've come a long way midweek on a chilly evening so I want you all to go over and thank them both. No practice tomorrow. The DVDs should be ready for collection at 9am and we'll all meet at 10 to go through any points which need discussing. We should be finished by 5. Now go out there and do it. If we have a bad result I may not be here much longer, and none of you want that, do you?............... David....have you been listening?......... Anyone seen Nicky?.....................
It's not cjs, this guys got education apart from a beard.... I enjoyed the story though, especially the Greville Smyth park bit..
'Some of you know that I want you out of the club so that I can get better players in. However I'm sure that if I bring you on tonight you'll give 100% for me and the club' That part is very astute actually! Surely all good managers list the players they think are **** and get them on the bench anyway and ask them change things around for us when its all going wrong. Don't they? No? I wonder why.
