What do people think? And how do people think we should approach this game?

I think a normal 4-4-2 is in order against teams who we should be looking to take points from.

    Krul

Simpson Taylor Coloccini Santon(feels so good to put him in an NUFC team)

    Marveaux Cabaye Tiote Gutierrez

    Best Ba

    Subs:
    Elliot
    Raylor
    Obertan
    Lovenkrands
    Gosling
    Shola
    Richardson

We are very short in defence, I am struggling to think of anyone we could put on the bench to cover that area as Williamson and Henderson are both injured. I have dropped Raylor as Santon has to come in, and Simpson hasn't really done much wrong, neither has Raylor obviously, but we have to be realistic. Simpson has more experience at right back which is what we need right now, and Santon is a clear choice for left back.

I have selected Marveaux over Obertan as I don't feel Obertan is going to offer us much end product, and we need to see what Marveaux can offer in the PL. It may be best to bring him off the bench but I would start him.

We need to start this game quick, they will be a new team and won't gel right away, which is why we need an early goal. Once the game goes on, they may start to click so it would be nice to have an advantage. We know what Barton will offer, and he will especially be up for this one to stick it up Mike Ashley and Llambias.

Taarabt is a threat, and was thinking that whatever wing he plays on, Santon should be marking him. He usually plays on the left, and if he does, it might be an idea to put Santon there and keep Raylor left back, because Simpson backs off too much for my liking.

They will have SWP on the wing, so they have good wingers to be fair, like I say, that part is up to Pardew but we need to hit them hard and not let them run at us with the ball because they will hurt us.

I am confident for this one, a nice win would make up for the shocking price we have to pay, as well as it being a long way to travel on a Monday night!

I have a feeling Lover will start unfortunately but the rest of your lineup looks about right. Can't wait til we can start to include HBA again <diva>

    ;) Great minds!

Ferguson definitely on the bench then. Cover for LB and LW just incase! Didn't wanna just say "what about Fergie" just in case he was still injured and I looked like a tool <laugh>

But now you all do. shame on you all for forgetting about Fergie! Shame.

Ok so maybe I'm throwing caution to the wind a bit here with an attacking lineup! But I believe the three playing off Best will give him enough chances. If it fails, bring Ba on for Obertan and play conventional 442, but I think the pace and strength in that midfield could give us 3 points! (fingers crossed....)

It wouldn't shock me to see your line up but with Raylor on the right wing. I just think Pardew may want to keep him in due to form, and the quality he offers from set plays. Whether that's right or not is debatable!

    Pretty much this

Would like Marv to play, but probably as a sub. Can't see Pardew starting him just yet to be honest. Few games under his belt first!

Confident of this match.. is why I've got a bad feeling about it at the same time... if you get what I mean!

To be fair, its Cabaye that has been going off lately. Did he play the full 90 against Fulham?

I would love it if Pardew went for it instead of playing it safe!

Hand injury. Haven't heard anything so don't think its too serious. If he's fit then he also has to be on the bench. Ranger anyone? <whistle>
