OK so tomorrow night we get a chance to qualify for the last 8 of a cup competition and land a home draw against Chelsea. We have a reasonable record against Sunderland but trying to predict tomorrows match is a nightmare with both managers likely to make a host of changes.

Opinion seems to be split amongst Saints fans as to whether MP should go with a strong side featuring established first teamers or give squad players a run out and youngsters valuable experience. Personally I'd go with a mix of established and squad players and give players like Cork, Maya and Gaston a good run out.

Sunderland have their own issues with league points a priority and players missing through injury and suspension. Poyet is likely to experiment with players and formation and hopefully that will be to our advantage. At least with his ban we don't have to worry about Cattermole injuring any of our players tomorrow night.:emoticon-0116-evilg

I'm obviously going to go for a Saints victory and will plump for a narrow 2-1 scoreline. Should be an open game and huge applause to any of you making the long trip north.Let's hope you travel back with something to celebrate.

    COYR!

I think it's because it isn't in the default Arial, looks like Times or something.

Poyet hasn't seen above the ankle tackles from his entire squad yet so he's sure to make a raft of changes, just to make sure he doesn't have any utter thugs in the squad he has overlooked.

Whoever we play, we should make sure they wear two sets of shinpads each.

If Poyet adopts the same style he used at Brighton then Sunderland need to get used to finishing matches without 11 players.

U21's have a behind closed door friendly this afternoon. Should give us a good idea of who might put in an appearance tomorrow.

**MOD'S EDIT: deleted the 4 duplicates [noted here just to prove there were once 5]. And corrected the hasty spelling.

Sorry to be a killjoy. :)

I've heard the U21's have a behind closed doors friendly this afternoon and that it might give us an idea who is in contention for tomorrow. Anyone heard anything? Lamballana?

At the risk of starting a few hares running at a tangent, I think the correct term for that is sextuplicate.

I thought it was sex-something. I couldn't remember what it was though.

I think they already are, three red cards already this season.

Cattermole and Gardner are generally red cards waiting to happen, if either of them finishes a game it's usually more due to luck than judgement.
