    SWANSEA Vs SOUTHAMPTON

    Last Time Out

Saints saints yet again squandered points from a winning position after Gazzaniga put Yoshida under pressure with a terrible pass. Typically Dyer pounced and capitalised. Schneiderlin started his glut of goals with Rickie providing the assist. Alas it led to only a point.

Saints: Gazzaniga, Clyne, Yoshida, Fonte, Shaw (Fox - 74' ), Schneiderlin Booked, Ramirez, Cork, Lallana Booked, Puncheon, Lambert

Swansea: Tremmel, Williams Booked, Monk, Rangel, Davies, Britton (Shechter - 66' ), Michu, Pablo, Routledge (Dyer - 56' ), De Guzman (Agustien - 86' Booked ), Ki Sung-Yeung

    Possession: Saints 60% Swansea 40%
    Shots: Saints 11 Swansea 5
    Corners: Saints 10 Swansea 6

    Form

    Saints: LDWWWD
    Swansea:LWLLLD

    Swansea's Last Match

Norwich rescued a point against Swansea at Carrow Road, Turner equalising from a Snodgrass cross after Michu put the Swans ahead.

    Saints Perspective
Its will be nice to get back to football after battling a physical, cynical Hammers in poor conditions on Sat. Should see some attractive football. Although we typically thrive on teams who try and attack (on the floor) the Swans have some real talent and Michu presents an obvious goal threat. We could be in for a tough time, my prediction; a 3-2 win to Saints. COYR!

Oh, my fonts haven't really worked. First effort though, and battling against the clock.

There's a button with a big A on it with an arrow pointing downwards next to it. Click that and you're there.

But it looks much better now. If you want to make match threads you have to put the effort in. :p

As I remember, the Swansea goal came from Gazzaniga's pass to Yoshida, but before that, he was put under pressure himself from some inept team play, where we had a corner and the ball was randomly passed back to Gazza for no apparent reason. Although we still do strange things, I think the whole team is more focussed now, particularly when we are attacking. Swansea's style, Michu notwithstanding, will suit us a lot better than most of the bottom half teams we have sometimes struggled against this season, and we could record our best away win of the season. 3-2 Saints.

Sadly I can't seem to upload pics at work. Maybe when I get home.... if very bored! So the likely lineup:

    ------------------------Boruc--------------------------
    Clyne-------------Yoshi----------Hoiveld--------Shaw
    -------Schneiderlin----------------Cork--------------
    ----Lallana------------Gaston------------------------
    ------------------------------Rodriguez---------------
    -------------Lambert---------------------------------

Subs: Davis, Fonte, Fox, Puncheon, Guly, Mayuka, JWP

Or do you think MP will start with Davis in the middle? Will we go with a more defensive line up to start? Has we seen the last of Punch in the starting line up? So many questions!

Swansea aren't in great form right now, perhaps indicating that "their season is over" and "they are mentally already on the beach" as the clichés go. However, they were quite unlucky not to beat Norwich. They had far more of the game and the chances than Norwich did and Michu missed an absolute sitter. I wouldn't expect them to be quite so profligate against us.

And if they are, our accomodating defence will do their best to give them another bite of the cherry...

Not to mention the previous few games were against Arsenal and Spurs who are fighting for the top few spots. So the "season is over" outlook, is a lil harsh, although some of our own fans have been saying it themselves, still, have to get a bit of perspective on the teams we did play :)

It's a fair point. So whats your likely line up? What formation are you likely to play? Strengths/weaknesses?

Frankie & Bennys , & a Harvester both right outside the ground , Coopers is not to bad but I wouldn't suggest the Railway <yikes>. Usually no bother and both sets of fans do mingle .If you see yellow lines then treat with the reverence they deserve ( you will get booked ) :emoticon-0148-yes:

I would bring Shaw back in (even though Fox had a solid game on Saturday), and would bring in Fonte for Hooiveld (even though he has done well as of late). In a game like this, with the pace of Swansea's wingers and front-men, it gives me nightmares thinking of the likes of Dyer/Routledge/Hernandez etc running at Hooiveld, especially within the box!
