There has now been 2 full days of no play at the US open, this has obvious problems for the organisers, especially due to the fact that one half of the mens draw is a round behind. Im not sure there is much the organisers could have done differently, there is a lot of people talking about a roof, but im my opinion it would be impossible to put a roof on ash court in its present form, it would probably need to be rebuilt the same as centre court at wimbldon, and the cost would be astronomical.

Now people in the top half of the draw (Murray & nadal) are faced with playing 4 best of 5 sets in 4 days (and that's provided there no more rain). Surely now the men's final will have to be moved to Monday, I also think that it might be a good idea to not have the men's quarter finals today like they are scheduled (federer & dokovic). The reason simply being fairness, in its current format federer and djokovic will play today, have a day of, play the semi on sat, have a day of, then final on Monday. Contrast that to Murray and nadal, who will play today, play tomorrow, play the semi on sat, have a day of and play final on Monday. If they did it the way im suggesting, the murray nadal half would play today, everyone would play tomorrow, everyone would play the semi on sat, both finalist would have a day rest and ready to do battle on Monday.

Now I know some people will say its just the luck of the draw, but surely the fans and tournament organisers would want a competitive final, if people in the murray nadal half have a couple of 5 set marathons then the final will be pretty much decided before a ball is even hit, and no one really wants to see that.
