Been so much Negative crap flying around this week thought be good to pick the positives out of last nights match:

Krul - Had a blinder of a performance pulling off some amazing saves, feel a lot more confident having him in goal. Harper will struggle to get back in on that performance.

Defence - The whole team were rattled in the first half and Scunthorpe got in our faces and din't let us play. Defence still looks pretty solid and had a steady night

Midfield - Marveux and Cabaye are looking to be good players (still need to see more of them) who are adapting well to English football. Bit more time and space they will be leathal with their quick passing, not going to have teams getting at us like that every week. Vuckic looked class for a young lad, needs to get more time on the pitch.
Sammi reminds me o bit like Tino, carries the ball well but hasn't a clue what he's going to do with it which confuses the opposition even more.
Took players on his movement was good, diffrent player to Shola but better by far IMO.
Vuckic and Sammi injected some life into the game and got things moving.

Downside of last night - not sure if Best and Loven are low on confidence or what but both couldn't shoot for ****, but to Bests credit it he had a goal disallowed and thought did ok.
Gosling also looked poor, maybe needs more game time!!

Overall - Good to see Vuckic and Sammi getting a chance and doing well, nice to see Gosling getting some pitch time as well.
Cabaye and Marveux also did well in what could have been a scrappy game against lower league opposition which they both could have struggled to cope with.

The future looks bright, the future is Sammi :D

Agree........smaller teams are always up for direct football which throws more playing sides which we now are. My concern is that Ba , Shola, Sammy could ALL be the same style of player.

I was really impressed with the amount of headers Best won against a big back four. Fair play to the lad I think he played really well.

    Ba & Shola Yes
Sammi No, like I say he reminded me a bit of Tino how he'd get the ball and run with it. He can take players on as well.
When he had the ball on the touch line with two scunthorpe players around him, thought he'd lost the ball or was going out. Some how turned and came away with it. He has the fighting attitude to get and keep the ball, Shola expects it to his feet he won't put himself out to get the ball IMO.

Credit to Scunthorpe they were up for it last night and got up in our faces giving us no time to settle on the ball or pass it.
Not trying to smooth over our failings because there was some last night.
But Scunthorpe gave us a good game, the young lads and new guys all did well so some good came out of it.

I agree. Also, the fans were awesome last night I thought. My hands are bruised from banging on the wall at the back to give our singing the drum effect.

Ryan Taylor over the wall for 20 minutes, Just can't get enough for 20 minutes, the song in my signature for about 10 minutes. Really enjoyed last night. Spent the whole time with @iwantcurlyhair2 from twitter.

yeah last night was mental. The banging at the back kept it going. I was at the front pogoing and what not. My m8 who watched it on sky said he had never seen anything like it. Top work from the fans last night.

I thought that Vuckic looked very impressive when he came on last night, is he still only 18?

No-one died, other than that I'm struggling. Lovenkrands played out of position and was poor, Ba & Best couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo. Marveaux definitely more effective in the 1st half before he was asked to play a more central role.

Id say the biggest positive is that we won?!? Surely thats the biggest positive if we are taking these cups seriously.
