We´re building up nicely to win our first one
And no time is better than now,
Three points added to our score would be welcome
And if so, then just watch us grow

An opponent with whom we, with all due respect
Both home and away, on our day,
Would look to take points off and also expect
To have a good share of the play

But, Hodgson R. is a boss I do like
He´s been around and done it all,
That´s a plain FACT!!, as I´m sure Col U_Mike
Would say, if we gave him a call

And the longer it goes without that first win
Even if we are playing quite well,
The more doubt and uncertainty may creep in
As some think back to our last spell

And although this squad is much better prepared
And stronger in every way,
We still need to soon, adapt and be geared
To the Premier League and how they play

But in every game so far we have improved
And down at the ´Bridge´ how it showed,
We were really only a cat´s whisker removed
From an upset there on the Kings Road

With Morison, Jackson and Crofts in the warm
During this International break,
Goals for the first two won´t do any harm
As we look for our first winning stake

And now that our talisman also has scored
It´s only a matter of ,
I´m sure, before we again can applaud
His feats, as some more cross the line

And just spare a thought for young Rudd on the day
What a chance for him, it is,
To prove he can match Ruddy in every way
And in time perhaps, make that place his

I´m sure his adrenalin, along with ours
Will be flowing quite rapidly,
Both before and after the game for some hours
Especially if our points total three

So I´m going to stick out my ageing old neck
For once, and say this one we´ll win,
By one or two goals even, for what the heck

Certainly our best chance to date, dave, especially if Long and Odemwhatsit aren´t ready. But I´m very wary of Hodgson, he´s a wily old fox, be ok if he was playing, but I don´t like him organising.
