Absolutely buzzing for tomorrow, just cant wait for the game to finally get underway after these horrid months of waiting, I have my doubts about the season and honestly haven't a clue how we will fair but that's no reason not to make a few predictions for fun

So, what do you reckon each one will be?

Top goalscorer? I reckon big Demba, was banging them in for West Ham and has a great goal record and from what he was saying when he joined he seems like he wants to hit the ground running.

Most impressive signing? Like a lot of people I think Cabaye, looked great in pre-season and seems suited to this league by the way he conducts himself, though any of the players we have brought in have promise and could excel.

Surprise package? Maybe a player who you might not immediately think would have a blinding season but could shock us all. I'm going with Steven Taylor. I said on another thread how he seems to be over his injuries and its about time he proved himself and has had lots of positive things to say in the press, I'm backing Taylor to prove himself this season.

League finish? As I said before I haven't got a clue how this season will go and we still haven't finished buying yet (I hope) so the team could change, but I'm going to go for a modest 11-13th place finish, this is simply because we are considerably short on good strikers and defenders, if we were to bring in a new striker and a new LB I might raise my expectations a little.

Cup runs? How do you think we might fair in the cups? I really think we should be aiming to do some damage in the cups this year, I think with the strong youth players we have in the likes of Vuckic, Fergie, Sammy, Abeid etc... we could do alright in the cups and at least hit a quarter final in one of them.

Most disappointing player? Of course not counting people like Smith, Perch, Lovenkrands, Shola etc... who we know will be ****e, but whom out of the main guys from last season and the new boys from this season do you think will flop? I dont want to be pessimistic but I've always had (since the leg break) that Ben Arfa might not be the same player, and feel he might be injured for large chunks of the season. ****ing hope not mind.

Seen a few thread like this so though I'd couple the ideas together into one.

Cup runs? lge cup semi - FA cup 4th round

Most disappointing player? - sammi (proving he is after all an ameobi) .........run i dunno maybe ober if his confidence goes (just hope the crowd aren't quick to get on his back)

Seriously buzzing as well! Was going to start a thread about it earlier saying how it's been a horrible summer but it'll be a good season!

Top goalscorer? I think Shola, think he'll have a good year(at last!)

Most impressive signing? I'm going to say Cabaye like everyone would, but think Abeid will be a good one as well!

Surprise package? Does Taylor count? I'd say he should be having a good season, 25 now and grown up and ended last season well. I'd say Shola, but other than him I'll say Guthrie.

League finish? Hopefully around 12th. Potential is there to go higher or lower though.

Cup runs? Win the League Cup! Seriously though depends on the draws, we are good enough to get the quarters with a kind draw.

Most disappointing player? Either Demba Ba or (don't kill me) Cheik Tiote. I don't think he'll cut his stupid yellows out. Which will disappoint me. And as we have very high expectations of him I see him failing to live up to them

Apart from the league position I said my predictions are surprisingly good so far.

This thread didnt get much attention when I did it last time (probably because tash didnt post it) but what are peoples altered predictions for the rest of the season?
