I was trying to think of ways that the PL could become more competitive. It seems that the problem is that clubs with the most money build the deeper strongest squads. This is what separates them the longer the season goes. Injuries do not affect them as much. The lower table teams are completely exposed with just 3 to 4 injuries in reality. I wanted to think of a method that would promote youth, as well as less player movement. Establish some loyalty again from both club and player. I also wanted to force clubs to consider their squads more and not just buy a load of players. I wonder what people thought of this: Squad size of registered players: 22 Any player 20 years or under need not be registered and can play at any time. Youth players are committed to stay at one club between the age of 16 and 20. They can then leave, be sold, or sign a senior contract. 1st transfer window: 3 senior player signings can be made + 1 loan signing 2nd transfer window: 2 senior player signings can be made + 1 loan signing. Newly promoted clubs are allowed to add 1 senior signing extra in each window. I know the best clubs will have the best players still, but I think it would mean middle table clubs would be able to buy players that previously that could not have got. Therefore lower teams could now get better players. Could this be effective?
