Leicester City will have to significantly increase their their bid if the hope to sign Preston North End defender Sean St Ledger. The Foxes are believed to have lodged an offer in the region of £750,000 for the Republic of Ireland international. But despite approaches from Leicester and other clubs, North End boss Phil Brown says he has not heard anything that has convinced him to sell yet. It is believed a bid of more than £1 million would be needed to prise St Ledger from Deepdale. The 26-year-old is wanted be several teams and is unlikely to be eager to stay with Preston after their relegation to League One. Suggestions that St Ledger had passed a medical at the Walkers Stadium are wide of the mark. The centre-back is still on holiday and the deal is nowhere near that far down the line. Brown said: "With regards to Sean, there is a lot of speculation and paper talk about him. "There have been bids put on the table for him, but nothing substantial enough yet to wet the whistle of the owner. We're going to take our time and give bids a lot of thought."
Bit slow there. We have now agreed a fee and he looks like joining either today or in the next few days
