Well as we seem to be winners of family club of the year. Year in Year out, i thought lots of the bad attitudes had gone away. Lots of our fans arent going to like what i am about to say but here goes. Bournemouth saturday. Myself Tom and my wife made a weekend out of City playing a friendly in Bournemouth. We found the ground at approx 12.55 pm got to the turnstiles to find some of our fans screaming and shouting at the 3 stewards on the two turnstiles that were open, good start, not. When getting into the ground, and a nice little ground it is, we looked for seats where other families were sitting, which we did. Some of our fans (mostly 40+ year olds, same as me) who were also sat near us just issued a tirade of abuse at anybody or anyone, there were lots of families with young children there, and we do have a fair mix of supporters, but it became terribly apparant that lots of them were becoming uneasy at the language that was being used around us. I am no prude having spent 25 years in the RN i am used to most things. It got so bad that we and a number of other families left the game early. I can put up with some swearing however this was something else and the use of the C word was un called for to say the least. Some of these characters need to update themselves, i knew who they were and they should be ashamed of their behaviour, it was a friendly match, nothing competetive, as nice day in a nice ground where we probably outnumbered the home fans. Have we lost our reputation, NO not yet. Hopefully non of the posters on here were the above mentioned SO Called supporters, because beleive me we can do without these idiots. We were going to Yeovil on Wednesday, not now, Tom is dissappointed however the demeanor of these characters is threatening and in this case it wasnt a few it was many. I hope we can go forward but there is still much to be done. Sorry if any of you are offended however we need to sort this out.

It is a sad fact that what people of my age would call bad language is the norm today. Family areas should be free of this type of behaviour at home or away.

I hope that this incident won't keep you away and you, Tom and your wife can enjoy Yeovil.

That sucks mate. I know it's no excuse but you'll get swearing from Sunday league games through to major finals but it must have been pretty bad for you guys to leave the game early after making the trip. Couldn't/wouldn't the stewards move you to a different area or was it just a contained section for bluebirds?
Obviously it's your call and thats fair enough but personally, I wouldn't let it put me off making the trip to Yeovil.

It probably wont H. However where we sat at Bournemouth, most of the other families sat also and these clowns turned up and sat all around us, the looks on the faces of some of the Kids and thier parents said it all, yes i could have started an arguement with these known idiots but where would that have got me, Here goes. THERE IS NO ROOM IN OUR CLUB FOR MEMBERS EITHTER PAST OR PRESENT OF THE 'SOUL CREW' I hope they go and support Swansea, however i do not think that Swansea deserve them either. I will put a line under this one now, we will go to Yeovil because they will not win. But they do need to grow up. But when you hear comments like, Wheres Bournemouth's Crew etc etc. It makes you wonder doesnt it especially from people of their age.

You will probably find it was that a sunny day at the seaside caused these idiots to drink more then their tiny brains could handle, no excuse, but may have been the reason, we don't need dinosaurs like this at our club, and thankfully the problem is dying out, but it obviously hasn't gone away completely, it won't and is a sad reflection on society.....but don't let it put you off, if these morons drive away the decent fans then they will have won <ok>

That is bad news. I ended up not going for a variety of reasons. Glad I didn't now.

As Proph says, a sunny day and too much booze might account for the actions of these neanderthals. But in reality that is no excuse.

We played an evening game at Bournemouth in the Carling Cup 3 or 4 years ago, about 500 or so went and there was no sign of this sort of problem. It was a cold, wet evening (for August/Sep) it actually hammered down as I recall driving back over the Bridge and couldn't see more than about 50 yards ahead. Perhaps that put off these fair weathered half brains.

In all honesty I went to 8 away games last season where we attended in much greater numbers but didn't see or hear anything as bad as you saw Saturday. No excuses but perhaps the overall small numbers there emphasised the antics of these clowns.

I'm kind of with you on that, but at the same time kind of not.

Even if they were in the "mens section", surely these "men" should be adult enough to realise that there were families with young children present and tone it down a bit? Some swearing is to be expected, after all emotions can run high at football matches, but these guys are driving fans away. It's no different to taking money out of the pocket of the club they claim to love.

Like i said there was no dedicated family section, however most of the families were sat in the same area, i know you have a liking for the guys i mentioned Aber, but come on mate this is a thing of the past surely. It was a friendly a nice sunny day, and they probably had a sniff of the barmainds apron etc etc, i can take bad language at a match and have used it on occasion personally, like i said i am no prude, but it doesnt take a rocket scientist to work out that you have families with children in your near vicinity does it, there is no excuse for the language they were using it was disgusting, they were also talking about other things that they didnt have a clue about such as the IRA and Afganistan, personally as an exserviceman of 25 years standing i found thier attitudes repulsive, uninformed and truely offensive, there really wasnt any kind of excuse for these idiots, and yes they will drive fans away. I would say they need to grow up, however for most of them that time has passed them by.

Aber, you are missing the point my friend. It was a Friendly, whats to get worked up about. In answer to your playground comments. Some kids are brought up others dragged up, but most know what is right and what is wrong, they will also know swearswords and use them i have no doubt of that, i didnt ask anybody to pussyfoot around, however these people are clowns. The bad old days of the 80's and 90's are gone, and some need to get used to that.

Well at least when there is a problem we are not afraid to air it, not like other clubs who go into denial whenever they are faced with certain facts.

Now own up, who mentioned Swansea on this thread, I looked through and can't see them mentioned, but it seems Dulldai spotted them mentioned somewhere, or else he wouldn't have bothered with this article, seeing that it's not about them.

Dai. I've stuck up for you in the past for the sake of banter - whether you wanted me to or not is another matter.

This intrusion into a serious thread being discussed by CCFC supporters is unwelcome. Please push off and I'm being polite. <ok>

There are songs sung where swear words are rife at every club up and down the land. For some reason we all to a degree accept it as a part of the game.I tend to ignore it more often than not.

What grates with me is when some gobby ****ester has to use the C word in every other rant at players, especially from their own team when they are within touching distance of women and kids.Seriously need to grow up.

I treat bad language as just another word like you m8,but like you say there's a time and a place. It's not clever in front of little uns and the ladies.More so when it's done with aggression.<ok>
