The Mirror are reporting that Ken Bates has infuriated Simon Grayson by refusing to sanction a deal which would have made Alexandre Mendy his fifth summer signing.* The French midfielder impressed both fans and Simon Grayson alike during his pre-season trial with the club and his transfer was believed to be nothing more than a formality.*Some complications were reported earlier in the week, but Grayson seemed confident these would be resolved and Mendy would soon be signing for the club. Considering the positive comments made in the press, The Mirrorâs claim that Simon Grayson is âfrustratedâ by Ken Batesâ decision are entirely believable. Following the disappearance of our âtransfer warchestâ and continuous stories of Ken Bates refusing to meet players wage demands, you have to wonder whether all is well at Elland Road. Certainly, the performance against Southampton this weekend could suggest growing unrest behind the scenes as Simon Grayson becomes evermore frustrated with the clubâs inability to secure the players he wants. Iâm sure Mr. Chairman will put a different slant on things in his next eagerly awaited Radio Bates interview. Hope this is a load of rubbish from the Mirror, otherwise were finished
No, Grayson's finished which can only be a good thing. The problem for the club has been its ability to secure the players he wants.
Clive - You're like a bloody scratched record - I'm a Millwall lad and even I'm getting fed up with your continuous ranting about Larry......**** knows what other Leeds board members think of you - give it a rest for a while, you've made your point - let it ride and see what happens !
no doubt Clivetime will want Mourinho Wenger ONeil Oleary Strachan instead of someone who supports the club you really don,t have a clue .BATES WON,T PAY ANYTHING FOR PLAYERS OR MANAGERS END OF so who would possibly want to fill SG shoes!
In peace lads, I really feel for Grayson, he obviously has his hands tied behind his back as would anyone else coming in. Ross is not a lone striker and really needs someone else up front with him, you'll then see how good he is, tbh I'm sorry we lost him. I think your worst problem lies with your defence it just doesn't look up to standard, not sure what else SG can do unless he can manage to get a few loanies in once the premier clubs name their squads. Anyway good luck for the season
Thats exactly it Sussex. I think a lot of us can see McCormacks quality and actually feel sorry for him being played the way he is. He doesn`t stand a chance most of the time but given some proper service he will score more than he misses.
Just to add some more fuel to the Bates debate www.thescratchingshed.com/2011/08/top-five-reasons-to-love-leeds-hate-bates/ Came across that article - seems to give an interesting perspective...but no doubt there will be the flipside viewpoint too
Well said Tommy and I have felt all along that Grayson is unhappy with lack of funding. It is bad enough not being able to afford new signings but to not afford loanee wages... Looking forward to seeing the turn out for the protest on Saturday. I am hating Bates more and more each day...
Wonder how many of these articles will be produced before Bates threatens to sue or something falls out of the closet? He should have thick skin given the way he operates and the amount of features fiving him aslating, yet he seems to be thin skinned on occasion and let things wind him up. Anyone worked out the pattern yet?
It's just a bolloks post, posted about a paper report which isn't fit to call journalism. Me and Grayson will be sleeping easy tonight. Don't you just despise agenda driven fools like Clive, hiding behind his keyboard. Wonder if/where he sits at ER. I'd love to have a good laff at the geek.
