Evening all - early thread for tmz

5.50 Newmarket CITIZENS CHARTER 4-1 Forecast Price- A competitive nursery to start the Newmarket card and it would be foolish to rule any of the 7 runners out. Shamaal Nibras sets the standard having achieved a rating of 85 after two career starts so far. He shaped nicely behind subsequent group 2 winner Chandlery on debut before making no mistake at the second time of asking when landing a Wolverhampton maiden. However conceding weight all around in this race will not be easy and as he is also the likely favourite he may well be worth taking on at the prices. Citizens Charter looks the one to be with. He made a very pleasing start to his racing career when landing a fair maiden at Newcastle. He ran on strongly that day over 6f suggesting the step up in distance to 7f for this race should be in his favour. He found a conditions race too much last time out in which he showed signs of inexperience when running 4th of 5 behind the unbeaten and current guineas favourite Harbour Watch. That form looks good with the second home Burwaaz since running with great credit in Group 3 company and of course Harbour Watch winning the Richmond Stakes. Citizens Charter should be open to further improvement and a mark of 80 doesn’t look beyond him. If he opens up at anywhere near the 4-1 I think that represents cracking value and should be snapped up.

6.55 Newmarket WROTHAM HEATH 11-4 Forecast Price – A very good looking maiden which should produce plenty of future winners. Finding the right one for tomorrow will not be easy but I will be taking a chance on the Sir Henry Cecil trained Wrotham Heath. Entries in the Royal Lodge and the Dewhurst would suggest he has been showing plenty at home and any market support tomorrow will look significant. I like the Cecil newcomers at Newmarket and I am hoping this will be another winner for Cecil/Abdullah. Godolphin took this last season with a well above average horse called Biondetti (Group 1 winner – Breeders Cup Juvenile 4th – Group 3 placed on return) therefore all three of Al Zarooni’s runners have to be respected here. Kinglet appears to be the main hope for Godolphin but they have been known to win with the “second” string on the odd occasion.

8.00 Newmarket AL KAZEEM 7-4 BOG (NAP) – Only 6 runners line up for this race that was won last year by the high class Wigmore Hall. However it still promises to be an interesting renewal with the selection Al Kazeem set to start favourite. He has the profile of a progressive horse and his victory over Labarinto(2nd) and Fulgur (3rd) last time out looks very strong form. Another very good horse was back in 5th that day (Dominant) and a repeat of that performance should be good enough to see Roger Charlton’s horse pick up his third career success. An entry in the Great Voltigeur would suggest this horse is held in high regard at home. If that entry is to be taken seriously he really ought to be winning this race.

2.10 Lingfield RIEN NE VAS PLUS forecast price 10-1 (NB) - A really interesting maiden in my opinion and it is hard to rule many out. However if Rien Ne Vas Plus opens up anywhere near the 10-1 forecast price she is a big bet for me. She shaped really well on her sole start as a 2yo when a staying on 6th in a Newmarket maiden over 7f. Although she looked slightly awkward on her reappearance she still shaped with a fair bit of promise despite only finishing ahead of 3 rivals. She should have come on for that run and surely this half sister to North Light is capable of a lot better than has been shown on the track so far. The step up in distance to 1m6f should really suit and she was being gambled on before being declared a non runner on her last scheduled appearance, therefore if anyone else likes this one she should be backed early on.

    GOOD LUCK ALL <cheers>

Morning all. Only bet for me today is also one of RV's - like the look of Citizen's Charter in the 5-50 at Newmarket as Al Zarooni and Dettori have proved pretty good to back this year.

3 to take a look at today:

210L: Fairy Pose can only improve for this step up in distance after running a very nice race LTO.

250W: Despite having a double penalty Geneva Geyser will take the beating today, hardly come off the bridle yet in his 2 wins and Lady Herries is very capable of getting this horse to run up a quick sequence. There should be plenty of money for this one so early price may well be the best!

635H: With Gusto and Glen Moss both going to improve for very good debut runs there could be some value in an EW punt on John Gosdens Chalk and Cheese. Nicely bred and the yard continue to fire in the FTO winners.

Be Lucky all who play <cheers>

Morning all. Interesting little listed race at Tipperary this evening at 7.20 - the Coolmore Hurricane Run Stakes. 3 O'Brien runners should have it between them, 2 Dylan Thomas colts and one by Dansili. Furner's Green was well backed on debut and scored very easily, beating stablemate Battle Of Saratoga who reopposes tonight (interestingly with Pat Smullen on board).

    7.20 Tipperary Furner's Green (NAP)

Took 2s (maybe it was 7/4) on Al Kazeem last night, couldn't understand why it was so big.

Other bet is old boy Cornus down in the sea fret at Brighton. It ran well on its return and today could be the old boys day. EW bet and is 4/1 offer race to boot.

Not liking any of the juvenile heats today, will wait for the big ones tomorrow.

I was reading today that Deauville is expecting the usual British invasion for the Maurice de Gheest on Sunday - Dream Ahead, Society Rock, Genki, Markab, Wooton Basset, Swiss Diva and Libranno all expected to go. The interesting one from Ireland is Zoffany. It wouldn't be the first time we see something stepped back in trip and doing well but i have to say I'd be suprised as he looks to me like he could do with further and not shorter...... Regardless, it looks like a fascinating contest again.

Not with Blue Banana receiving weight from it. Al Kazeem's connections must have noted all the not606 support and pulled it to save the bookies!!

RV, take a look at the HQ seller, I think the Hannon horse is rather big for a weak heat.

Any of you jumps fans got any thoughts on Paul Nicholls Rowdy Rampage in the 4.50 at Worcester today? Could be absolutely thrown in off 109 and I'm thinking about taking some of the 3/1 on offer.

Come one, come all, roll up and grab what's left of the even money Furner's Green in the Tipp 19:20. I'll start much shorter. Buying money.

RV that Bold Perk is up 25lbs on it's last handicap chase rating <yikes> would be some performance to win but you never know with Pipe's horses

I feel a nice little Barney Rubble coming on - Rowdy Rampage and Furner's Green

Oddy - I'm always a bit wary about having a punt on the summer jumping but still have a look at the cards. Rowdy Rampage was one that caught my eye and the other was American Art in the 2-20. Good luck if you partake - I'm quite tempted now!.
