I wonder where they go next with him, perhaps a good nursery if he gets a fair mark?

Well, i watched the race with a guy called Noel, who wrote as 'Robin Goodfellow' in the Express (I think) and he knows his racing. He had thoughts on the Royal Lodge at Ascot? But i'm not big on entries and races so would not have a clue mate. Not sure he would get a good enough mark in a nursery but have 'nag me' him so will keep an eye out :emoticon-0148-yes:

Newnton Lodge has always gone nicely at home and James taught him plenty on ground that he liked. It looked a nice race and he wasn´t stopping at the end. He could be interesting next season when he goes over a trip.-Tom Grantham, assistant trainer.

Also fascinating to see Rail Link finally having winners as a sire, it does seem that he is going to be a sire for the middle distances and that alone.

    Morning all

watched Newnton Lodge on Friday from York and thought he was very impressive. Liked Samuel Pickwick from the race as well, backed him and watched him closely- travelled in to the race really well but think he wants a bit further

If I do it will be Amistress in the 400 Leicester BUT it is totally dependant on the price <ok> took 9s last night but there will be a massivo Rule 4 and only had a tenner win so will have to check the new market <ok>

Shame Peter Winkworth is hanging the old 'training' boots up after this season, he is a superb trainer and often gets them ready to fire FTO, hopefully Anton Rogers will be as good, i'm sure there is an actor out there somewhere with a similar name, quite a big bloke (comedy type if it's who i think it is <laugh>)

    1.50 Deauville - HUMUNGOSAUR E.W 12/1 BOG

A nice listed race for 2yo’s and I will be going for an E.W bet on HUMUNGOSAUR who looks a little bit over priced at around the 12/1 mark. I was considering a decent E.W punt on this one but best keep it small as it would be foolish to write off the French 2yos as I only have a basic understanding of the form for most of them in this heat. The bookies have Rockiante a warm favorite for this race, Richard Hannon’s colt was placed in a Group 2 at Glorious Goodwood and has already picked up a listed heat at this track this month, he is the only listed winner in the field so has to concede weight to all his rivals and I really do believe Humongosaur could take advantage of this, his 4th behind Tales Of Grimm last time out looks very good form with really well though of horses filling the first three positions, he remains capable of better and is put up as a solid E.W chance.

    2.55 Deauville - CAPE DOLLAR 20/1 E.W BOG (NAP)

A competitive Group 3 for which there is no stand out horse on bare form in my opinion and again I will be backing a British raider. From the French trained horses I do think Wavering is a nice sort and her latest effort is probably best ignored. She is a Group 1 winner and this is a step down in grade, she holds several of these on that run but for me it was a weak group 1 and while she does offer some sort of value at 7/1 I prefer CAPE DOLLAR at 20/1. I have always liked this filly and after a slow start to the season she has performed a lot better in her most recent runs. She looked an unlucky loser at Royal Ascot when denied any sort of clear run and followed that up with a nice 3rd in a decent listed race last time out. Again she wasn’t positioned ideally and was given a very easy time by Ryan Moore, she is certainly capable of better and I am really looking forward to seeing her run over 10f for the first time today, she should relish the step up in distance and hopefully she can win this at a big price.

Thank the lord!! They pulled my nap out.

Interestingly I think they are beginning to realise that she needs some cut, she is entered at Goodwood this weekend but I hear they are expecting good ground.

I quite like Ardmay in the first at Leicester, middle distance breeding, out of a dam who produces juvenile winners and from a leading yard. The weights are the issue as he was the most expensive through the sales and he is a gelding too which suggests some issues. He is a fair EW bet.

Was that the horse that got badly impeded and then finished 4th? Stouteys?

I guess its running in France, because I can't see it being able to get in any of the handicaps/sellers in the UK today <laugh>
