Saw the pictures just before you posted it. Bizarre. The vomit-green paint scheme doesn't help but maybe it's just the photography.
ScarbsF1 Craig Scarborough Most teams will follow this nose shape... #sadly
A picture of it released by Caterham. please log in to view this image I think they still might have a bit too much light in that picture.
I see what you mean! But... that platypus nose aside, I rather like it. I think the livery is pretty stylish. I've never seen vomit that colour anyway; whatever would you have to eat to produce it? Anyway, it's good to be seeing something. The pre-season suspense is getting to me now.
Thats the first angle i saw and it got my hopes up, then i saw the rest.... The lighting helps, but i think its just the way the darkness and Wheels led me not to notice THAT nose. If as likely it is true that all the cars will have that then we are in for an ugly year. That Caterham may yet end up the looker of the bunch.
That really is the most disgusting F1 car I've ever seen, good job the BBC have lost half the races because they wouldn't be able to show that pre-watershed anyway. The annoying thing is that the regulations have been so clumsily written, that the McLaren nose from last year, which looked good and was safe, is now illegal, to potentially be replaced by something more dangerous and hideous to look at. Hopefully some of the other teams will come up with more aesthetically pleasing solutions. Newey has said in the past he likes his cars to look good, lets hope he doesn't have a platypus fetish. please log in to view this image Ridiculous that the McLaren and Toro Rosso noses don't comply. The Caterham one looks like they've just bolted a compliant nose on last year's car.
I'd probably say Caterham are my favourite team, so I've got my fingers crossed they're all this ugly. That thing is an abomination. I'd love to know why the stepped nose is more aerodynamic than say, a smoother one. The rest of the car looks ok though. If it's quick though I guess I won't be complaining.
I don't think it's been posted, but here is Scarbs' take on the thing. Not enough detail for him to give a proper interpretation, but the general gist seems to be that it's packaged nicely, although I'm not sure if they've made as much use of the exhaust gases as other teams may be looking to.
