Anything is possible with seven points separating the two. In the aim of sportsmanship I assume both members will ensure to avoid posting the same prediction. Please remember if the place is tied the winner would be the most recent correct prediction ie the Burton game. A formula that has always been used. So basically on that basis Readers could still snatch the title from Steve347's grasp. Let us not forget gfc1234 with an outside chance but he will need to predict a score consisting of four goals (or more) and correct goalscorer(s) or more as applies to any lower placed members. In simple terms for Readers to win the title in the lowest denominator and only if Steve347 fails to score ANY points ie including nil correct outcome. Readers will require a correct score other than 0-0 because one correct goal scorer will also be required in his prediction. In all honesty I'd happily take a 10 nil loss if it meant Rotherham missed out on automatic promotion. I think Evans might combust. While I don't think we'll lose 10 nil I do think this will be our first defeat by more than a goal. Not that it matters now as the job is done. That has kept things nice and simple for Readers by Steve347 posting first. You know you cannot post the same prediction because otherwise Steve will win, unless an outside chance for another member comes in. So a quick reminder of how points are earned: 0-3 goals in a game with a correct prediction = 6 points 4-7 goals in a game with a correct prediction = 9 points 8+ goals in a game with a correct prediction = 12 points You earn 1 additional point for EACH CORRECT goal scorer(s) predicted but only if you get the scoreline correct in the first instance. You do not earn goal scorer(s) in a correct outcome win/lose/draw Correct outcome win/lose/draw = 2 points - you do not earn these 2 points for a correct scoreline prediction, to which those points are already indicated above Finally remember in the event of a tied place, the most recent correct prediction will be the deciding factor to break any deadlock Good luck to all.
I make my prediction, then we find out that nearly all the first team are being rested. Ammend prediction to lose 5 - 0 ? Hmmm, will have to give it some serious thought.

Ok. As this currently stands, Steve has forecast the same outcome as Readers which is a win for Burton. So regardless of Steve getting his prediction right, if the outcome is a Burton win that would put Steve on 90 points. Readers you have predicted 4 goals and IF that score of 3-1 comes in, that would give you 9 points making your total also 90 points. Therefore Readers would not need to get a goalscorer correct because the most recent correct scoreline prediction would win. I never counted this scenario earlier because Steve had predicted a different outcome ie a draw. Hope this all makes sense.
