In 2011, we have played 25 games in total. 23 in the 2010/11 season and 2 this season

W - 6
L - 15
D - 4
GF - 26
GA - 38

At home in isolation;

W - 2
L - 7*
D - 1
GF - 15
GA - 23

* Including the humiliation of FA Cup defeat to mighty Notts County of the 3rd Tier of English football.

We were also beaten buy such massive clubs as WBA, Fulham and Wolves at home in that time.

Forget the derby games (if you can forget a 5-1 thrashing by your nearest and dearest that is) and concentrate on the facts. If this is progress then **** me sideways we are in trouble. Was Mick McCarthy's record at home much worse? Was McMenemy's for that matter?

On these stats alone he should be sacked and for throwing yet another derby game on Saturday, he should be pelted with dog **** as he is leaving the stadium. The dog **** would be ideal as this will match his after match excuses which I am sick and tired of hearing too.

Defeat at Brighton and at home to Chelsea would mean he would have lost an incredible 17 games out of 27 games. This is not progress ladies and gentlemen, its a sad and hapless manager out of his depth. If we dont act and act quickly, those stats will transfer to a relegation scrap we may not escape this time and then we really are back to square one.

Get in Martin O Neill or David Moyes before its too late.

I agree with you mate, which is why I am desperate for Bruce to stay as long as is possible, at leaset until next March. Unfortunately for you, most of your fans think that being in the top 5 spenders in the country and climbing one or two places per year is acceptable. In fact, most have said they will be happy with top half, meaning progress has plateaud. Any other manager in the country would have made you a European team by now. BRUCE FTW!

The only stats that matter is us finishing 10th by goal difference from WBA! :p
And an incredible 1 point above Newcastle Bolton and Stoke. :p
All of whom had better goal difference than us. <ok>

Cest. I've thought long and hard and tried to avoid this conversation. I have an opinion similar to yours and have silently agreed with most you have said - except about the Bruce conspiracy and putting on here where he drinks.

Anyway. Here goes.

Bruce out.

Cest - Your needles stuck man. Give yourself a clout and get out of that groove.

I think EVERYONE knows you want SB out, but I am now getting heartily sick of subtle nuances upon your main theme, it's like the end of Prog Rock when the "artists" were right up their own arses.

We've heard you - move on.

Of course he would want the job, if Short and Quinn are willing to keep piling millions in!

Actually the only stat that matter's is that Steve Bruce is Sunderland Manager, those that want to cry about it can.

Thankfully a season last 38 games. We can all pick bits to suit an argument.
How did we do before Xmas? You know, when we hadn't lost virtually the whole first team.

Martin O'Neil is not the answer.

David Moyes is, if we had to make a change.

Bruce needs to get it right immediately, but 2 games in with 10 new players is not the time.

its pretty damning when your rivals want your manager to continue what he's doing, abit like we wanted the likes of gullit, kinnear and s*****r to continue their fine work. Those stats are also pretty damning.

Cest I have a question for you and all the people who want bruce out. If we lost the next 3 games (brighton, swansea, chelsea) Bruce would definitely get sacked, would you be happy to see that happen?

Lee Marvin is the answer.

Quinn to Marvin;

"Lee. we've spent all the money. You have to mould these guys into a killing unit"

Marvin to squad "you win or you die"

Seemples.

I like this.

Win or die motherfuckers.

It's brilliance is it's simplicity.

Personally if that was to happen, I would hope Ellis and Quinny had, what Mr Bruce never seems to have had.

A plan "B" <ok>

While I totally agree with the general theme of this thread, would it be the correct thing to do to get rid of him now?

The correct time (IMHO) was in the summer before we signed 10 players at his behest.

Now we have his players. For me, the answer to the dillemna surrounding this thread was made at that point in time.

I want rid too, but I think we are stuck with him

Ingredients:
•2 pounds chicken pieces
•1/2 cup flour
•2 teaspoons salt
•1/4 teaspoon pepper
•1/4 cup butter
•1 cup sour cream
•1 cup chicken broth
•8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms
•1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
Preparation:
In a clean plastic or paper bag, combine flour with salt and pepper. Toss chicken pieces with flour mixture.

Melt butter in a casserole dish or skillet; brown chicken on all sides. Mix in sour cream, broth, mushrooms, and paprika. If the skillet is not oven-proof, transfer mixture to a casserole dish.
Cover and bake at 350° for 45 minutes, or until chicken is tender.
Serves 4.
