Ok, don't know why my last thread got deleted wasn't wumming or anything and resulted in reasonable debate....
    but still

Assuming we sign the players mentioned

Szneznky -- Fabianski ----- Sorted, chesny will improve and is already good, fabianski looked good before his injury and will be decent backup

Sagna -- Jenkinson ---- Sagna will barely miss a game, and jenkinson should be able to give a reasonable performance when needed

Mertesaker - Djourou/Cahill ---- Assuming this means a change of our high line to compensate mertesakers lack of movement alot better
Vermalean - Koschielny --- Another year, and better cover as apposed to squillaci
Santos - Gibbs --- Time will tell but it has to be better than nobody.....

Song - Frimpong ---- Frimpong looks good and will push song all the way, alot better and looking good

Wilshere - Rosicky - Diaby --- no real change, another year for wilshere, rosicky seemingly getting back to something resembling him good

Walcott - Ryo ---- Not the best cover could maybe do with someone to cover the 2 wing positions
Arshavin - Ramsey - Diaby ---- Needs someone new, then have arshavin as wing cover
Gervinho - Oxocube ---- assuming oxo isn't as good as his price suggests needs more cover

RVP - Park - Chamakh - maybe bendtner ----- Better than last season, and looks reasonable enough hopefully RVP seems to be less injury prone and park seems decent cover

Overall as everyone knows we still need to replace fabregas with someone good!, that'll free up arshavin to cover walcott/gervinho on the wings, and allow ramsey to improve without the pressure

    i'm 99% sure we'll make top 4,
no where near city or united, and chelsea are better.
But i'm sure we're better than Liverpool, Spurs etc

  3. Well I still believe it depends on who we get but if we have a solid defence with a good strategy then we need to shore up the midfield. Without the creative element feeding the forwards, we would be struggling to meet our usual level of scoring which has been rather good over the past couple of years or so. I would be a lot more comfortable with another striker but if our needs means that we get one in January then I am confident we will make the Top 4. The two Manchester teams would appear to have the top two places almost sewn up but it's early days. I think the balance of power in the EPL has for the moment shifted to the NW.

I think with the new signings and the comments that have come out about the extra focus on defending strategy etc our defence will be better due to hopefully a deeper back line, better players and more defensive focus which could compensate our lack of scoring?

And with frimpong being the much better defensive player and pushing song that could help shore up the defensive side of midfield
Ya never know we could end up being boring boring arsenal!!

Gervinho i think offers more creativity and goal scoring possibilities, and with walcott hopefully focusing more on breaking the offside trap and scoring from the middle rather than crossing again could help

But defiantly some creative player is needed or maybe another defensive mid and push wilshere up into the fabregas role?
