Andy Murray was pleased with the standard of his play as he beat Croatian veteran Ivan Ljubicic to progress at Wimbledon.

The British number one now faces Richard Gasquet of France in the last 16 after a tough match against Ljubicic.

Murray recovered from the blip that caused him to lose the second site to record a 6-4 4-6 6-1 7-6 victory.

Murray said: "I thought it was an excellent match. I thought both of us played very well. The first game of the second set was a bad game but apart from that I thought it was a very high standard.

"There were a lot of good rallies. I felt like I hit the ball from the back of the court way better than the last match.

"I think I did a good job of keeping my energy high for most of the match. I played a very good third set. And I did well in the tie-break to stay focused and come through the fourth set.

"It's always tough when you serve for matches, to finish the match off after that is difficult, so I think I did well."

Ljubicic was left disappointed not only by the defeat but also to find that his ambition of playing on Centre Court was not all he had hoped.

He said: "I was a little disappointed that the roof went on. I felt it was just another indoor tournament.

"It's not even huge. I remember when I walked on the centre court at the US Open, I was like, 'Wow, it's huge'.

"Here I was hoping I would feel that something special. I felt good actually, I was more relaxed. It helped my game because I could concentrate on tennis instead of enjoying the place."

I don't wish to be picky but I think you'll find he is actually through to the last 16 ;)
