Arthur Beetson AOM today passed away as the result of a heart attack, aged just 66. The Roma legend was named as one of the props in Australia's Rugby League team of the Century. Before the advent of State Of Origin, Queenslander Big Artie played for NSW in the state clashes against Qld, as did all of those who played in Sydney. Qld were hammered year in, year out by Queenslanders playing for NSW. Beetson led the Maroons in the first SOO, and with him came all the Queenslanders who'd played for NSW, Beetson led his team to a sensational victory, forever cementing the new concept in the game. Needless to say Big Artie was also a member of the Queensland team of the century. He was also an inductee into the Australian RL Hall Of Fame.

Long my the great man rest. <rose>
