Arteta has publicly thanked Everton, the management and fans etc for his happy 6 years.
He says it has been the most important time of his life, and loves the club and always will. He is only leaving at 29 for a chance to play CL, (and is taking a pay cut).

A proper tasteful departure compared to Nasri.

  2. He's a good man to have and just at the right time too and he also has Barcelona DNA <laugh>

Seriously though and I'm sure that while we would agree that footballers get paid enough, I do hope he will prove his worth and the club rewards it.

  4. Agreed, which is why I hope we will reward him appropriately in addition to revising this stupid pay structure that values youngsters on the basis of their potential and holds back on senior and lead players who are making their contribution to our current needs.

Whoever dreamt that up needs shooting. Well, at least a good talking to ;)
