So with Gervinho and Chamakh off to the ACON i can see Arshavin will have more games to start and a bigger role to play in the first team.

Yesterday we saw he is capable of putting in the effort and is a very direct player. But his finishing was off and he has struggled for form this season.

Will he be capable of playing every game as a starter?

I think this could give him an opportunity to find some form again and have a good season. He still shows glimpses of the player he can be and i think with constant game time and Wenger pushing him to put in the effort to fight for a first team spot once the others return we could see him playing some good football again.

I think he still has something to offer as a player and will contribute something worthwhile over the next couple of months.

He can create moments of magic and i have a feeling he will click into gear again soem time soon.

So what do you think? Can Arshavin still play a prominant role this season? How are you feeling about him being our likely first choice for the next few weeks atleast? Will he find form again? Or will this show him up to not be worth it and end his career at our club?

I think he's been off form for a while and it does frustrate me that he is a lazy player at times, that said if he can regain his form, then he still has a lot to offer Arsenal.

On his day, he is world class, let's hope he can show us that again.

Would be nice to see some of our fans trying to get behind our players and support them instead of constantly berating them.

He put in much more effort yesterday but a premiership player who had half a dozen good chances to score and he didn't get one goal, mmm I'm still not convinced

he is such a wasted talent. We've seen almost world-class skills, abysmal finishing, frustration and idleness,
abdication of tracking back to defend, and glimpses of terrorising defences etc etc.

What is clear is that he has the ability to be second only to RVP in importance to our team - and yet?
Will he go and many of us will think 'good', or can he at this late stage turn it around?

An enigma inside a mystery - thats our Andrey.

It's really frustrating watching Arshavin. He's obviously got the talent, and the ability to turn a game in an instant - but overall he's been a big disappointment for us.
Let's hope he can turn it around - I still think he's got a lot to offer our club, but that said. He may well already have one foot out of the door.

Remember some of the goals he's scored over the past 3 years..... Blackburn,..... 4 against Liverpool.... Barca etc.
Where has it all gone wrong? We know what he's capable of but his confidence looks shot.
Does he deserve another chance or should he be sold? I think if the money's right then we should sell him.

I think we should sell the ****. Sometimes I'd rather we only had 10 players out there without AA than 11 with him.

Why waste time on a player that is coming to the end of his career and offers little to the current Arsenal team. He has been given a lot of chances from the boss yet has been aweful all season. We have young talent that could be used instead. Miyaichi seems to be back so why not start with him? He can't possibly be any worse and at least he will give us more energy and TRACKING BACK options He as well as all the other younger players are future players for Arsenal, so playing them can only ulimately benefit us. They will not only offer us more passion but give them much needed experience.

  9. We seem to be missing the experience of the AA magic. This despite what he had hoped he would do this season. I wonder if playing him out of position has ruined his game and confidence. With those moments of magic being more of a rarity, perhaps he may find a rejuvenated career elsewhere. I think we should try to introduce Ryo Miyaichi into the game before too long. Last year in 12 appearance for Feyenoord he scored 3x and provided 5 assists.

he's low on confidence, but he genuinely looked like he was really trying last night.
Arsenal often have a VERY set first 11, and that doesn't seem to change ever. So Arshavin probably didn't see a way to force himself in - he wasn't going to hit form playing a few minutes a game. Suddenly now he has a clear run, and if he gets form he can keep Gervinho out when he gets back, so it's suddenly worth making the effort for.

I'd expect to see good performances from him, like the old Andre, from now on. There's a good reason for it, and he can see what it will achieve. I was all for selling him a couple of weeks ago, now I think he should be given right til the end of Jan to show he's got the fire back. I think he wants to play, and he knows now is his chance.
