Pearson has been saying it should be 2-3 weeks before Mannones ready to play, but on Arsenal Tv Wenger's has been quoted as saying 6 weeks. http://af.reuters.com/article/sport...=401&feedType=RSS&feedName=sportsNews&rpc=401 If this is true, then there will be a 2 week gap between Guzan's loan running out (as i believe we can't extend it, sure I heard that somewhere) and Mannone's return. So wed have to either bring Duke back, play Oxley or bring in another keeper on loan who would probably only play two games!
I'm more concerned that Wenger's suggesting that in addition to him being out for six weeks, he might not let him come back at all. If we're not able to extend Guzan's loan further, I assume we'll have another target in mind, I don't think we'll recall Duke unless we have no other options and I can't see us starting a game with Oxley.
well, they are very short and when he's fit again he might play for them.. doesn't help us though.. now who's that Trinidad & Tobago international at Tranmere?
I wouldn't worry about Arsene's view on anything. Anything happens to one of his players it's part of some conspiracy, anything happens as a result of his players he's oblivious to it. You'd think after all this time he'd have asked for a seat without restricted vision wouldn't you. Possibly Amos from Man U if Mannone doesn't come back. They seem to like letting us have players and I'm sure with van der Sar retiring in the summer they'll want their 4th choice keeper to get a few competitive games if at all possible so they know whether they need to bring in another in the summer.
Actually if we lose tomorrow our play off hopes might be gone so I would'nt mind seeing Oxley get a run of games in the team till the end of the season to see what he can do. You know it makes sense to find out now what he is up to.
I wouldn't hesitate selecting him anywhere on the park age 41 whatever.. he loves football and he'd play for free and give everything..
We might yet be looking at 7th place being a playoff spot by the end of the season (if QPR are hit with a big enough punishment)
