I know there are three games left in this season, but I think we have had enough games to decide this. My choice is clear, and I think nobody comes close to Cazorla. Santi Cazorla - 12 league goals and our main creative outlet for most of the season. Considering that this is his first season in a new league and country he has done really well and I think he is going to be even better next season. Started the season brilliantly, but then had a dip in form in the middle of the season. Scored some excellent goals, and is a pure joy to watch. Other possible choices: Theo Walcott - Our top scorer in all competitions. Stand out game was Newcastle at home. Jack Wilshere - Returned after 16 months out and for the most part was excellent until he picked up another injury. Stand out game was Swansea at home in the FA Cup.
Agent Donkey has done well, but he has let the club down lately by completely blowing his cover. They have sussed him out.
Cazorla by a long way for me, he has given our midfield a real spark again. I'd go for Koscielney next, he has made a massive difference at the back since he's come in. Then Theo, this season he seems to have finally shut his detractors up (apart from gent )
Close between Cazorla and Wilshere, but Wilshere was our best player for the time he was fit, and that's long enough to be player of the season. Cazorla gets credit for coming in and being brilliant. Defenders shouldn't even be on the list. Koscielny was dire at the start of the season, and a few good games at the end shouldn't mean he gets a look in. Another case of living in the moment for some fans who picked him I think. Walcott was good in the 1st half, Ramsey in the second. Arteta was better last season, but that's not his fault. Pod showed enough just after Christmas, but I was underwhelmed by him overall.
Cazorla for me, but special mention has to go to Ramsey who has really stepped up a gear in recent times....
? You don't think they have an important role to play ? Staggering comment to be honest, Arsenal fans probably more than most know what it's like to throw games away due to poor defending and this season, both Kos and Mert have been instrumental in tightening up our defence.
OHHHHHHH SANTI CAZOOOOLA, OHHHHHHH SANTI CAZOOOORLA, OHHHHHHHHHH SANTI CAZOOOORLA. Let's get Fabregas back, Fabregas plays down the middle, Cazorla out wide and coming inside like he does now, and bada bing, bada boom, nobody will be able to stop us, with a new midfielder enforcer in there as well, and box-box midfielder Jack Wilshere, we will tear new assholes into all teams we meet.
That's not what I said at all. Of course defenders have an important role to play. My point is no defenders have played well enough to get on a shortlist for player of the season.
A list for player of the month, not the season. To each his own though. I guess we disagree again, so expect some more "staggering comments" in due course..
I'm going to have to go with Cazorla, all though he's done well I did expect more from him, I do think he'll go on to be immense next season though. I think had Koscielny had a full season at the back with Mertesacker then he'd be my choice.
