With Mertesacker out injured for Wednesday, what defence would you line up? We have the following options:

    Sagna-Kosh-TV-Gibbs

    Sagna-Kosh-TV-Coquelan

    Sagna-Kosh-Song-TV

I would prefer to go with the third option, with Song playing alongside Kosh, I wouldn't want to start Gibbs in this game he's been out for months and I don't think making your return to the last 16 of Europe at the San Siro is the best game to come back into. If Song starts in the back we could then play with a middle of Arteta, Ramsey, and Rosicky.

    Sagna-Kosh-Song-TV

Always rated Song's defensive capabilities a lot :)

    We need 2 NATURAL CBs
I'd go with Coq/Gibbs as LB

gibbs would be useful. with TV at lb, u could clearly see today that most of our attacks went down the right, which is why walcott saw so much more of the ball than chamberlain. with gibbs at lb, we would attack more down both sides and chambo will be more useful. tv doesn't go down the wing too well, so chambo got double marked out of the game, as larsson didn't need to watch vermaelen.

If Gibbs is back, it's natural to have him in at LB and then have the masterful Vermi in at CB, where he belongs. Not sure I'd be too comfortable with Gibbs playing his first game back after so long out against Milan though ...

How about playing Kosc at LB and Song to partner Vermaelen? Just a thought.

Coquelin has done well when he's featured, in my opinion. Give him the chance. Sub him for Gibbs at the seventieth if you want.

I think we need Vermaelen back at CB alongside Kos.

Can't see Gibbs starting. That would mean him and AOC on the same wing. That is pretty weak in terms of the defensive side. Maybe Gibbs will start and someone like Rosicky will be moved to the left wing. I can't see AOC and Gibbs starting in the same team. I am pretty certain of that.

  11. Vermaelen and Kos will be in the middle

Coquelin and Sagna as full backs.
