http://www.arsenal.com/arsenalbargains Arsenal.com have got a story up for Black Friday on which player is our best bargain ever. But what is incredible is that they've given us a team of 11 to chose from that cost £10m total! £10m for this amount of talent is ridiculous in any era, especially when you consider that the majority of these players played for us in the last 10 years! Lehmann Bellerin Campbell Toure Clichy Viera Coquelin Fabergas Wilshere Ljungberg Anelka (to that you could add Petit, Henry (£10m for arguably the best player in the world at certain points), Cech, RVP, Sagna (£6m) and Pires (£6m) It's a pretty good line up...
http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20151126/wenger-reveals-his-best-bargain-signing Here's what Wenger says himself on his bargain transfers
Do bargain players even come around these days ? I think Wenger might have bagged a few more Vieira's and Anelka's over the years, but since Chelsea and City started spending, the young players were snapped up for big deals and mega wages.
Swansea do pretty well with bargains - vorm, michu, bony... But since all the big clubs started buying young and chelsea and man c cane along the its dried up for the big clubs
A lot more clubs have cottoned onto the foreign market and seem to pick off good bargains. There is a lot more competition for talent and wages has gone a bit mental. But saying that, you can still get top players to fit your system without breaking the bank. Not every player can play for a Barca or Bayern.
If you are prepared to wait until a player is out of contract, then you can get a bargain. I may be wrong, but I think it explains one of the players in the op. #Judas Hence RVP was quite cheap
I think we got loads of money for RVP for 1 good season for a crocked #judas at £24m when he only had 1 year left on his contract... please log in to view this image
