http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...signing-Alexis-Sanchez-says-Michael-Owen.html The clown is at it again.
We're the pundits annual over-achievers! Not that we ever get any f*cking credit when we prove them wrong * But yes, Michael Owen is a collossal thunderc*nt.
It seems a bit silly to me to make any prediction regarding what the final table may or may not look like. The transfer window is still very much open. All of the top 8 teams from last season have made significant signings and will probably have more to come. Even if the first 11s had remained relatively similar then most fans would not want to make any prediction until somewhere between 8 -12 games had been played. So people like Owen can make money out of the rags but only if we take any notice!
He's entitled to his opinion, what's the big deal. Doesn't actually have any bearing on how the season is going to unravel.
There's a difference between having an opinion and charging for that opinion as though it had some value.
Owens a terrible pundit and match commentator and it doesn't surprise me that he writes rubbish like this!
Yes it must be hard to say "I think this will be the top 4", especially when being paid for it. Hero. He said almost exactly the same thing last season about us and wasn't called up on it nor admitted to being wrong when we got CL football (again) and the FA Cup. If people are going to loudly express their opinions then they should be held accountable for them if it goes t*ts up. They're the first to point out when they're right so it seems fair. Anyway, as Dave said it seems pointless to predict finishing positions until the window ends. Thus further proving Owen's stupidity in my eyes.
Owen was a good footballer. he is now a **** pundit. whatever he says we can ignore as he will be wrong. pundits and the press never ever apologise for making wrong predictions or comments - except Hansen who apologised about the comment he made about Theo. PS the only difference between pundits and us fans is that they get paid for their **** opinions !!
It seems pointless to say he's not been called up on being wrong when he's similarly not acknowledged when he's right. Such as when he predicted before Christmas that Arsenal wouldn't be able to sustain a title push and Liverpool would. Fair play to him, he was right. The hating is pointless. He has an opinion, he could very well be right. If he isn't and Arsenal challenge for the title, he'll have to eat his words. Hating on him for making a prediction is just silly.
When your opinion is based on bullshit, then it's a problem. He based his opinion on Arsenal supposedly not keeping up with other teams around us who are moving forward, really? So signing Sanchez, and Ozil last summer, as well as more additions to come in, is not moving forward? While Liverpool on the other hand have just sold their best god damn player! Not to mention we just won our first trophy in 9 years so if that's not moving forward I don't know what the **** is. So when your opinion is based on garbage, it's obvious your opinion is more to do with a personal bias, and this prick has a personal bias against Arsenal when you listen to him. Again how can anyone say Arsenal aren't moving when we've just made our top 2 most expensive signings in 2 consecutive summers?
Opinion are like arseholes, we all have one. I disagree with Owen (sadly) but I don't understand getting upset over one man's view. At least he even considers your team
The Anti-Arsenal media campaign continues. Adrian Durham, Michael Owen, The Daily Mail have all taken swipes at us before the Season has even started. Its such a biased opinion. Arsenal have been strengthened with a World Class addition while Liverpool have lost one. Currently Liverpool are looking like by FAR the most likely to miss out. Also Van Gaal is a notoriously slow starter so will be interesting to see how his first Season at United pans out.
Why the **** do people get so upset about a pundit's opinion ? It's the same as people cancelling their contracts with BT because of a TV commercial. Man up for ****'s sake.
It is interesting to see the sweeping negative statements made (all in the space of a few weeks of each other) by pundits/media recently against Arsenal. But I agree it's best to ignore the numpties, especially the Talksport/Owen/Thompson variety as it's best to ignore the rumours of we're going to sign everyone from M'Villa to God. But damn it's difficult...
Durham is doing a brilliant job,his Twitter time line is full of posts by irate gooners. They pay 10p a minute to phone and 50p to text his show every day, they listen to his show so the advertisers are happy. The same with the Daily Mail, every time someone looks at their website money is made from advertising. It is said that Arsenal fans are the most active on social media, maybe that explains why the media mentions us so much.
