The Beeb are showing highlights of the above game on Saturday morning as part of their classic FA Cup games of the past which they have been showing for each round.

Too young to remember this game live but didn't we score a really contentious goal (offside?) and won 3-1?

Shame we had a wine waiter in goal for the semi!

We could have been the Coventry of 1987...

It was a classic case of play to the whistle.

Memory is a bit faded, but I think they thought they had a penalty and we broke and scored while they were still complaining?

At 2-1 to us, Tony Adams thought he was fouled in our penalty area at the North Bank End, Arsenal stopped with their arms in the air (familiar to older readers) and Luther broke away on our left, made ground into their penalty area, shot (saved) and knocked in the rebound - right in front of me at the Clock End. Cue delirium......

Arsenal argued about this all the way to the final whistle.

    Wonderful!!!!!!

If you don't have a dictionary to hand and want to know the definition of pandemonium just think 89 minutes Highbury 14 March 1987. We've had some brilliant games over the years but I still think that's my favourite. Worth remembering that really was the nucleus of what became quite a special Arsenal side.

I meant had a penalty appeal, not a penalty! glad to see others have confirmed my recollection was correct.

Coming from 'emel, I have loads of good mates who are gooners. We went to the game with them and had a few beers before the game. They were not too happy when we stopped off for a beer on the way home!
    Great day out..

The two sets of fans didn't seem to so segregated in those days, I remember the Arsenal fans around us were going berserk. very bad losers, whinging and whining.

I was there too. It's the only game I ever remember getting pushed UP the terrace because it was so packed. Just one of those games and the goal that everyone is talking about that will always stick in the memory.

Watched it yesterday. Nice to see Arsenal took the defeat graciously. Watching the referee and linesmen running for cover reminded me, im pretty sure a missile was thrown on the pitch at the Wolves game on Saturday, from the home supporters. I recall a break in play and the ref handing something to the 4th official. Hopefully in his match report.

Just seen this. Fantastic, but occupation Road hasn't changed much in thirty years.
