Partey and Ramsdale are still available along with the new signing of a defender from Italy...which has really pleased Ben "go **** yerself Gareth" white. Rumour has it that you were considering a bid for Toni but decided it was a risky bet Arsenal are expected to improve on the last two seasons...so the annual throwing away a 10 point lead won't take place until April! Captain Black has been trusting the process to **** all pre season while rehearsing new excuses for the season. Rumour has it that he'll point out that klopp leaving hurt his plans as much as Pep staying did. Arsenal TV are praying that things go tits up as their advertising revenue has taken a real hit since you stopped being ****. The 2 definites this weekend are: 1. Wolves will put up their brave showing against you until the 6th minute when they'll start defending like they're on the Russian front line with the Ukraine. 2. That twatty forever song will be sung The preseason hope is strong in me...not that spurs will win anything... but that you won't. I would say enjoy the match but let's be honest... you lots are mofos so I hope a zombie apocalypse break out at the Emirates. I'll leave you with a quote from Tolstoy which is very apt... " my old man said be an arsenal fan but I said...."
Decent half. Played some good stuff. White and Odegaard playing very well. Been impressed with Wolves though- not a bad side at all. Would like to see Timber or Calkafiori replace Zinchenko.
2-0. Good result against a decent side. Timber is some player - huge improvement on Zinny if i'm honest.
Only saw the highlights, but it looked like we had Wolves where we wanted them. Great to see Havertz scoring again on the opener. Reckon it could be a big season for him
Late response from me on this, as I've moved house on Friday evening with minimal wifi. Good, solid win on the opening day against a respectable outfit. That being said, they've lost two key first-team players recently, so I was expecting us to win fairly comfortably and I think we did. Glad to keep a clean sheet too, especially with some of the unforced errors and individual mistakes on display. Partey, Zinchenko and Saliba were all a bit sloppy at times IMO. Technical security and situational awareness was lacking. I thought Raya and Gabriel were fantastic, though. Raya especially, not just with the couple of big saves he made, but his distribution and calmness from deliveries and set-pieces was top. White was superb as usual. Havertz and Saka, the two goalscorers (and assisters), were the two best players on the pitch for me. Glad to see Timber get some minutes. I didn't realise how press resistant he was and how comfortable he is receiving the ball on the half turn. He's going to be a big asset this season. It was important to start the season off with a win, particularly with the fixtures we have coming up. For all intents and purposes, seems like Merino is going to be a done deal shortly. Hopefully we can get an attacker coming in, but seems like it'll depend on outgoings. I think if Eddie stays, we won't bring in a new attacker.
