My final visit to the Emirates this season ****ing lunch time kick offs,I'll have to be up at 3-30 as the bus is picking me up at 4-40
I think the team will depend on the City Everton result on Saturday. If we already have 4th secured when we play West Brom, expect to see Vermaelen, Sanogo and maybe Kallstrom start. Also Sagna is a doubt for the game, so Jenkinson might get a game.
I agree with you,we can afford to play a weakened team against WBA if the Everton result goes our way.It will be far more difficult to rest players against Norwich next week if they are still involved in the relegation battle.
I think we'd probably lose that game whatever team he puts out, the players would be in complete beach mode Assuming we win on Saturday that is
We're not playing on Saturday On a serious note I would hope we play a full strength team against Norwich and go all out for a win whatever this weekends results.I think it's important to go into the cup final with a winning momentum.
i think whoever plays will try their hardest in our last 2 games. especially since there are FA cup final places up for grabs. If we've already secured 4th by the West Brom game, I wouldn't be adverse to playing 2 (almost) completely different starting XIs in our last 2 games: vs. West Brom Szczesny; Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Monreal; Flamini, Ramsey; Rosicky, Ozil, Podolski; Sanogo vs. Norwich Fabianski; Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs; Arteta, Kallstrom; Chamberlain, Cazorla, Podolski; Giroud That's 20 different players, plus people just returning from injury (Wilshere, [{Diaby}]) who could come off the bench. Barring injuries, some positions are already pretty much decided for the final (Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Ozil, Cazorla) but others could still change based on form and who tries the hardest.
....and will need to show all that 'positive mental attitude'. West Brom will be fighting for their lives.
I reckon we should play a weakened team, don't want to risk anyone before the final, so for the next 2 games, put out 2nd string teams on purpose. Fabianski Jenkinson Mertesacker Vermaelen Monreal Diaby (if reanimated) Flamini Gnabry Rosicky Podolski Sanogo If Diaby hasn't been reanimated, then start Arteta
Ramsey ain't even on the bench. If Wenger is going to play Fabianski in the cup final which is almost a certainty as he has been called the cup keeper, then I don't get why he doesn't just start him in the next 2 games, surely that's only going to be better for everybody, it's these type of things that sometimes leave me scratching my head at Wenger. Just f**king play flappy today, for f**ks sakes.
And that means what exactly? f**k all. We want a cup, who gives a f**k about 'golden gloves'. Giving game time to the cup final keeper is much more valuable and important. We get no trophies for Shezny's personal accomplishments.
